Agree with this, Think continuity is one of the recipes for success. Ancelotti has the pull power and Brands does the eye fluttering and hand shakes while snagging Nkounkou and Jarred on the sly. In the summer we're completely or almost free of the Walshman era apart from Siggy iirc.

That'll be what happens imo. Lets be honest Ancelotti brought us in James, Allan and by the sounds of it Godfrey.

Doucoure and Nkounkou seemed Brands signings who are both decent no doubt but Ancelotti has been the one who has brought in those 2 key players in James and Allan who have transformed the side.

The lack of a back up striker to DCL was a poor decision which could bite us on the backside and not bringing in a top GK to replace Pickford was also a poor decision.

Im 50/50 with him tbh as he did a good job overall this summer in comparison to last seasons shocker - as you say probably Carlo will have the big say on if he wishes to continue working with him or not long term.

I think Brands probably had more to do with the Godfrey deal but that's speculation.

What I would say though is that Brands has hammered out fantastic deals for the players Ancelotti wanted at way below the asking prices that had been banded about. I think his little black book of agents and other deal makers may well be very valuable.

I’d offer him a new deal. This summer will see us finally rid of the previous mistakes. Where he can then make his own choices etc rather than have to sort out the mess that he inherited before being able to plan ahead.
