Some big positives from tonight, Holgate, Gana, DCL and Rooney were class. Klassen was a poor sub though, Game looked a bit quick for him tbh and legs were needed. Overall though good result but 6 points at this stage would have been lovely.

Davies was awful for me, and needs to up his game to the standard he was at last season if he wants a place in this ultra competitive midfield.

Last season at the Etihad everyone rightly felt we had stolen a point. This season people are bitching Everton left 2 points on the pitch. To me, that's real progress given the quality of City.

DCL was impressive. The back 3 of Keane, Williams and Jagielka scared the hell out of me when announced but they did well. Left to wonder how impactful Sandro's pace would have been in this match.

Got some great players now everton just need to get rid of the mentality of thinking they are just making the numbers up
should of took the game to City in that 2nd half showed them too much respect and sat back waiting for the inevitable which came from a mistake

The ones we beat last season 4-0? Those....? 11 of them and not 10?

Lukaku that night had one of his "one in every fifteen" games, where he was so unplayable he effectively counted as three men alone.

The odds suggest tonight he would have had one of his other games and we wouldn't have got out of our half.

In short, a freak result at home isn't a precursor of anything now, especially against a side who's just spent ridiculously money and it's the second game of the season.

Sorry, am I supposed to be ecstatic about a point against a team we had there for the taking with a goal lead and a man advantage?

'Sake.

think you just have to take Koeman as he his ! he bases his team on a strong defence ! opposite to pep who has all the money in the world " he knows koeman wont come attacking his team even with 10 men but couldnt muster the win ! even when 11-11 everton were winning

Not a fair point they have so many options - 1-1 last year was a fluke - this year we grafted for that point!

Last season it was a flat out miracle we got a point there, they wiped us so thoroughly we ought to have lost by five or six.

Tonight we stretched them, we stifled them, we often outfought them and if not for one misguided Holgate header we would have beaten them.

I think the signs are quite clear, for anyone who is actually interested in seeing them, that we are improving.

Davies has been shocking this season. One of the midfield spots is up for grabs, but I'm convinced that Rooney will eventually drop back. Could understand RKs subs, but give city credit, they upped their game and they have great attacking players.RKs idea was to get Klaassen into the box at pace but the player was occupied too much defending.DCL our man of the match, Rooney again a great display of intelligent football.
Tom needs game time his booking was harsh - as the player took his back leg- did more than klassen who for me looks flat footed - he will get better but only coming on from the bench!
