they would have won without the help with the 2nd goal, in my opinion. We were run ragged and hanging on - maybe we'd have made it to extra time. But the better team won on the night. I can only remember Del's shot in the second half.

We played well enough for an hour last until Roberto made the double substitution on 60 mins and from that point on we were never in the game again. Just a reminder that on 60 mins, the game was still 1-1. One sub on for Osman would have been fine but to take off Geri so early in the game was insane.

You're chatting absolute rubbish mate. Sorry, but you obviously suffer from tunnel vision.

No i'm not.

You were the better side, I've said that.

Your side also cost £500mil, you were at home, and you needed the goals. It's kind of expected.

You were unlucky not to score when Aguero and Silva hit the posts, I've said that.

But you're telling me that the game didn't change entirely after that awful decision. It wasn't even marginal, as the offside in the first leg was, or even the penalty that should have been on Navas (at full speed, it looked nothing more than a coming together - retrospectively it was definitely a pen). The ball was clearly out of play by a long way. I happen to think that had that happened at the other end, we wouldn't have got the decision.

End of the day, the better team did win, but like I said, until that moment, the gameplan we were executing had stopped you scoring a second (granted, with a it of luck in regards to your guys hitting the posts). For that big a moment in our season to go on a dreadful, simple decision, is horrible.

Best of luck in the final anyway, hopefully you can give that rabble what they deserve.

Unlucky on the result guys. I genuinely thought you were gonna do us after Barkley's goal. I don't think Martinez is to blame for the result, I just think our big players pulled their fingers out for one of the first times this season - when they perform like they did yesterday what can you do?

You were unlucky with the Sterling/over the line incident, I've said it before on this forum - the referees NEED help making these key decisions.

Well its one think seeing it happen, its another to actually stop world class footballing champions from playing the game that won them those titles.

They brought kev de bruyne on, he is absolute gravy.
that accounts for the finishes, the crosses, the passing etc

doesn't account for our defence being in the 6 yard box and allowing de bruyne to waltz in to get into position. Someone should have picked him up and stopped him making that run, it is simple defending drills.

Del's head had gone mate. Missed that sitter and was getting stroppy/conceding possession. Was right to take him off, wrong to bring Kone on though - in hindsight Lennon was the better option.

Agree there mate. I wasn't trying to imply a huge bias, it's just that the referees aren't willing to make the right calls in massive games. Same happened with your penalty call in the league, though in fairness on that occasion, Sterling didn't appeal either.

Fair enough - I don't think anyone can argue with that Sterling decision, I've just said in another post the referee's need help, until that happens these decision are going to affect big games. Hopefully we beat Liverpool, I can't be doing with them winning anything.

Really dont want to he funny mate at all, and last thing we all want now is blues arguing with each other as we are all hurting.

But the defending issue is a big one, we have all debated all season....but you can pick at citys defense for the Ross goal too, it happens, but out defense is poor.

Taking the one goal lead from the first leg & then Barkley's goal on 18mins, effectively we were 2-0 up after 18mins, but end up conceding 3 goals AGAIN.

Yes, the ref was poor & City were better than us on the night. In normal circumstances you could except the defeat & say we just weren't good enough, but how many times have Everton failed to hold on to leads this season.
Baines, Coleman, Jags, Stones, Mori would get into any top teams defence. They are capable defenders, we can not say we don't have the players. The problems result from a manager who refuses to recognise the issues. He has destroyed the solid defensive foundation that Moyes built. We are now Wigan, play nice football but will ship goals for fun.

How can we be 23 games into the season (not to mention last season) & Roberto has failed to address the defensive issues, it just doesn't make sense.

I don't like to see managers sacked easily, but I don't think Roberto is capable changing his defensive approach.
He either addresses the issue or he gets a proven defensive coach on the staff to sort this out.

Also, why are some of our fans going down the (not on here, I might add) route of 'if we didn't have Lukaku we'd be in the bottom three'. We do have Lukaku, so it's irrelevant.

If City didn't have Ageuro, they wouldn't be wear they are, same with Spurs and Kane...

Just as a side note, but it really gets on my nerves
