There has to be a line on what qualifies as nationalities.
Just say an English pregnant woman has baby whilst on holiday in Spain and then goes back to England. Does it make the baby Spanish? Of course not. Just because Arteta has lived in ENgland for 5 years, does not make him English.
Dangerous Manning ground there sir."if you are born in a stable are you therefore a horse"
City fan here, I like Everton and think you are a very good club witha great manager and I posted here saying you outplayed us by far in the last game we played against each other
Yes. Yes we did.
however the level of bias in this post is ridiculous.
Everton forum, Everton supporter mate. Bias should be a given, especially when it's sabre rattling time in a match thread.
We beat Fulham away. Fulham are a dificult team tro play, especially away. At the cottage they have thrashed United, Liverpool and Juventus and beaten Arsenal whilst only losing once there since Spetember.
Maybe they should of had a penalty but we dominated for seventy minutes and really should have won far more comfortably.
My point is that while beating Fulham away might seem on paper a cracking result they were insipid after the biggest night in their history. They have a small squad with little room for rotation and looked very leggy but you still let them get back in the game and then relied on a referee's mistake not to conceed a penalty.
Hahah beating Chelsea isn't top 4 form? Then what is may I ask. And get your facts right, we took the lead when they had 11 men on the pitch and they only went down to nine men in about the 87th minute.
We went to a side who had not lost at home all season and who we had not beaten at the Bridge for 17 years and we comprehesnively thrashed them. If that isn't top four form then what is?
I'm fully aware that one of their sendings off were at the death thanks mate, the point is that it is one result. We have beaten the Chavs and your lovable red neighbours recently but I don't think we'll challenge for the title next year do you? You have to beat your Sunderland's, Hull's and Stoke's to finish top 4, the momentum is not with you in comparison to Spurs and to a lesser extent Villa. Hence I think you'll end up in the Europa (still above us though sadly).
A point at Sunderland isn't terrible either. United drew with them and both Arsenal and Liverpool lost to them.
We wont have the fight if we go a goal down? Based on what?
Based on the first game against us. I was talking about our match after all. You didn't look threatening at all once we took the lead and if we go at you with the same determination and skill as we did at home and get infront I think your confidence will go and heads will drop. It's an easy thing to happen when you've been played off the park by a team recently.
We came back from a goal down at Stamford Bridge to win, Anfield to gain a point and we came back from a goal down to beat United 2-1.
Plus you are forgetting that we have not lost at home all season.
Still got us, United, Spurs and Villa to visit though mate. We had the same situation with about the same games to go not too long ago. Too many draws meant we didn't challenge top 4. History repeating itself perhaps?
Overall it will be a very tough game for us but one we need to win. 2-1 to City.
So despite my bias I went for a 2-2 draw and you've gone for a 2-1 for your boys, so we both think it'll be close.
But just like when you came Goodison some of yours are getting a bit excited (remember you'd beaten folk like Wigan and Blackburn for a couple of games on the trot and were going to win the league) and now you're going to go on a run to storm the top four because you beat Chelsea, snatched a late draw at Sunderland and beat a Fulham side that was a shadow of their usual selves...just.
Personally I wasn't fooled back in January and I'm not fooled now. You may win, you may go unbeaten at home all season, but you'll finish outside the top four in this posters opinion.![]()
Doubt it.
I don't.
You won't win this one.

If the 'home' city turn up, Everton will have to be at their very best to get something.
The mightly eratic Everton that displays itself for 45 minutes a game recently will struggle.
If the magnificent Everton turn up, City will be in for a suprise!
It really does come down to how they play on the day.
Should be a pro pundit me
P.S So I am not on a fence here... If both play to the max of their ability, I honestly believe that we have the better team. At the moment and subject to change during the summer!
