The rescheduled game takes place this Wednesday, a lucky rescheduling too as the original tie would have taken place in August when frankly we were awful and City would have pained us more probably.
It's a game which we certainly won't be fearing though, and that's testiment to the usual second half of the season charge by us. A stubborn Bolton were dispatched on the weekend and there still is that sniff of a Europa League place which seemingly is number one on the players media agenda. It's ok lids, we get the message that you're not one eye on the World Cup. What would be nice would be a really good away performance though, like the first twenty minutes against Birmingham times but four point five. And stoppages.
Team Bridge have had a decent season but not to the standard that the all too predictable pundits were forecasting in various Sunday supplements before the season kicked off, the fourth Champions League spot is looking within their reach while the vast majority of the country are willing them to do really [Poor language removed] based upon them having loads of money.
The modern day Newcastle boast some really good players in their squad, and you know them all too well so we'll refrain from going over them here but needless to say it's a tough tie and no mistake. Goodison was her beautiful best not too long ago when a Fellaini inspired Everton slapped the living [Poor language removed] out of them in a 2-0 win. Lescott is likely to play in this so no guessing what sort of reaction he will receive from the travelling blues but hopefully there will be no embarrassing banners or comedy masks as seems the norm for such instances these days, or to put it bluntly: were not that arsed as Heitinga is quite superb.
Moyes has some serious options for his starting line up for this game, both Saha and Osman returned from the bench against Bolton with the latter looking very good indeed and would be a decent bet to start. We'll know a little more about Anichebe's injury by then too, but how much face scrunching can one man do? He's nailed on for some serious lines in his early thirties and no mistake.
Tough one this, and you'd be entirely correct to stop reading at this point but I would throw money on the draw. This is one of City's games in hand and with one eye on the Champions League they will be up for it. An inspired Everton are more than capable of turning them over though, hopefully.
