your right Del we were far to open pre season and the first few games. Perhaps he thinks if we press high, teams will play through us, but we stopped them outplaying us when we pressed.
It depends on the team. We should have pressed Utd high because or their back line and lack of pace.

We played a few very good possession based team in preseason when we weren't fit. To play a pressing game you need to be fit and I just think we aren't.

The 3 chances we had should have been buried. This is why Eto should've been on as he'd have probably buried that Osman chance or that Barry chance cos he's a striker with striking instincts.

Again though, with Barkley and Kev missing, and Pienaar unfit, we lack any creativity.

Need to be looking at a creative midfielder in Jan. Tadic would've been the answer.

But even last year we didn't really play inbehind that often, we attacked in force (I.e. having cokeman baines in the box). But teams have adapted and our playing tighter against us.

We've only really missed barkley for the centre, most of the first teamers from last year have played this year and have bern apart of some dreadful displays.

agreed it depends on the team. Today was the day to press.

It was but we're rubbish at it. McGeady, Naismith, Lukaku and Pienaar always leave a big gap between themselves and the CM pair that makes it very easy for teams to play right through us.

We're probably the worst in the league at it. Again hopefully Barkley will help us here.

I thought second half was good as we have been this season, but we have got to get out of this enoying habit of starting games like they are friendlies, passing round the back like we have nothing better to do, we will just do this for 40-50 mins and then we will try and score. Big players missing, especially Barkley and Coleman but I think martinez has to set his team up to suit the players available. We were never going to play united of the park today with the team available, today should have started like the second half with us getting about them.
1 win in 7, we really need to get a few srappy wins on the board and go again when we have Ross and Seamus back.

It would appear people want Everton to play a long ball game. I thought we supported the School of Science not Stoke City. Stick to the passing game, play football and we will be fine.
Not supporting a long ball game mate. Just saying mix it up a bit and not become predictable. I was expecting Rom to beast that young centre back today, instead it was a walk in the park for the young lad.
