Have you seen the league table mate?

And

Would you have bought Osman or Eto'o on when losing?

And

Have you been impressed this season?

It is ok to criticise when things aren't going well mate.

Having said that, today shows how a top keeper can make a big difference.

For sure, I don't think we've played that well this season, and certainly not in the last week. I just don't see things as bleakly as some appear to. We got a draw at Anfield without playing that well, a weakened side got a draw in Russia in midweek, and we were within a penalty of drawing at Old Trafford having had a long flight back and several key players out.

You'd think the world had caved in the way people are carrying on. We're not playing fantastically at the moment, but we'll be fine.

That Febregas pass is out of this world. We haven't got anyone who can do that unfortunately. Not yet anyway. Barks, please hurry up

I wonder if it's that, though, or is Martinez discouraging them from ever hitting it long. We need to mix it up a bit because we are in danger of becoming too predictable. Also, we need to play more to Lukaku's strengths. He's become anonymous for large parts of games. Fair enough, though, on your point about us lacking in creative players at the moment.

If we want to have a go at Europa there's no chance we'd ever be in the run for Top 4. Last year was a mixture of chances, Arsenal imploding as usual, Utd faltering under Moyes and us having a relatively clear schedule

It was actually the 7 wins we had in a row. Liverpool's title challenge was because of the same thing.

There is still so much time and opportunity to get it right - yes it was frustrating today but once we get it right we will come good; we've seen glimpses of how good we can be this season but have been let down by stupid errors and no luck whatsoever.

Win a few games and everything changes! The knee jerking on this forum still shocks me and I've been posting since 2009; we're only 7 games in.

Playing 3 defensive MFs worked well at Anfield. I was amazed to see him weaken this protection for the back 4 by not putting Gibson in for McCarthy. Our MF marking was nonexistent. We've got to get back to harrying for every ball. at the moment the opposition have all the time in the world to do what they want with the ball.

I'd like him to try the 3 while we're carrying the injuries, and put eto'o up top with lukaku and give mcgeady the freedom inbehind. Get the width from the fullbacks (hibbert maybe an issue like)

The same last year, at least change the gameplan once in a while and try feeding him in behind the back four.

I can accept criticism of his hold up play, but not playing to his strength his a major ball ache

tbf his hold up play has improved. I think a huge part of Rom's game is playing with Barkley.

its weird on the discouragin from hittin it long. when we stick lukaku out on the wing, the diagonals are all we ever seem to hit . dont know why we cant just do the same only him in the middle.

I think it comes from the manager, its all about possession, the same with the defenders (and howard today) more concerned with ball retention. Be more direct once in a while

thats the truth though isnt it... i mean we're not playin to rommys strengths, he needs those lobbed passes in behind. wonder if tryin Gibbo out in a more advanced playmaker role could work. just puttin it out there...
If we had any player who we could consider an 'advanced playmaker' or just anybody AT ALL to sit in the middle, recieve the ball and play it in behind their defence (with pace) whilst Lukaku runs on, then we'd see much better results

Playing him on the left hasn't helped him and neither has the fact he very rarely gets through balls from the midfield, We use him as a link up player which is daft, Get him in and around the box and leave him there
We don't have any player capable of playing a through ball however Lukaku has to do more too.

Barkley will help but frankly I'm close to saying give one of the kids a shout. Maybe Green, how's he been doing?

I have no confidence in Atsu, Pienaar or McGeady. Oviedo and Mirallas are decent especially Kev but I think we are lacking something.
