If it wasn't for De Gea,we'd have won by a cricket score. Good performance but wrong result.

I am really at a loss as to how that was a good performance unless you were basing it solely on the last 5 minutes.

But that's pretty much been the consensus after every game this season and we're sat in 17th.

Fed up of reading anyone dissing Lukaku.

It's the same with every striker we ever buy. You love him because he scores, then when Everton create absolutely 0 chances for them over the course of months and months the striker stops scoring and the Evertonians will get on his back. Just leave it out! Realistically, he may as well not have even had a shot today. He got a header at the end, and a half volley v 2 defenders and De gea in the box on the turn after a long punt up field. We could have Messi and Ronaldo upfront and if we didn't make them chances then you'd all call them both [Poor language removed] as well.

Baines had a terrible penalty. Really upset me that. Would've looked boss had he sent the keeper the wrong way, but I just think trying to come back into a game you really just need to smash it in the top corner and be done with it.

McGeady had another poor game for me, doesn't really fill me with confidence for a 90 minute game. He'd be doing much better if Mirallas was still fit, as only having the one option really limits us. Keep the faith in him though, the talent is there.

Stones better not be injured for ages. Need him and Jags 100% fit all the time. Hibbert needs to go though, Browning looks somewhat better and will obviously only improve with experience based on his age.

Besic looks solid. Will grow into the team with confidence, would be nice though if we were playing well around him for 90 minutes though, give him a real taste of Everton.

Oviedo & Pienaar are back, will be an asset certainly in europe etc.

We show glimpses of beauty, and let us shower ourselves in dross for 60 minutes. Can't tell if the players were knackered from Krasondar or what, but the end to the game was certainly inspiring - it's just always too late. De Gea saved Man U with some worldies and you can't take that away from him.

Edit: + How much better did we look with osman in the team! He changed our midfield play into attack, and we'd been missing that all game, neither barry or besic could do it on their own. Osman to start next game with Besic and Barry behind him, Lukaku in front

You make some good points. Osman and Pienaar are crucial to the success of this style of play; but I would counter that Osman behind Naismith is the way forward. I wasn't hailing him last year as some saviour, I've never thought that, and if other people have done, that's their misapprehension. Today, and all season in fact, has not been about ragging on the subpar performance of the record transfer buy; he has been abysmal. Today he was downright hopeless... it is not the responsibility of anyone else when it comes to a player's control and ability to play a simple short pass. Lukaku looked inept at even the most basic tasks. It was almost ridiculous... the albatross around the neck in the form of that ridiculous fee weighs heavy on us all, Martinez & Lukaku quite clearly. We're forced to play him on that basis.

Martinez will bleat on about De Gea's saves late on, How unlucky we were etc etc

Players look lost
Confidence is shot with too few prepared prepared to step up and drive the team forward.

I can see it being a few more weeks until we get ourselves out of this slump and we will be looking back at the end of the season thinking 'what if' once again.

Why is everyone on here slagging of hibbo when we had the biggest piece of dog crap up front for 90 minutes and to be honest since pre season. Hibbo career is nearly over but he showed more desire, fight and yes ability than that 28 million no hoper up front. And don't go on about his scoring record the past 2 seasons what's done is done it's about right now and he is a useless !!!!
