first loss of the martinez reign, long may it continue.

I just ****ing hate when people say 'things even themselves out over a season'. No they ****ing dont. Andy Johnson was fouled constantly in the box and got ZERO penalties. The team got its FIRST penalty of the season on the last day of the year. It was a joke. Im surprised a former ref hasnt come out and blatantly said 'we dont give penalties against teams who are supposed to be challenging for the title'.

Negatives:

- Disappointing defending (although against a very good City side)
- Coleman getting caught up in an argument for their 2nd goal
- Disappointing displays from Barkley and Mirallas given their recent form
- Another sh*te ref, a pen so soft it will be used as an ingredient for Dove's new moisturiser, not playing advantage well and giving out cards like a blackjack dealer

Positives:

- Another Lukaku goal
- McCarthy was impressive today I felt, shame he had Osman, an unfit Gibson and an bad form Barkley in midfield with him
- Naismith.....
- No really I'm being serious with that Naismith shout
- Coleman's response after the pen

naismith was good first half, but dreadfull second half sadly, as were all of them i suppose

Baines was pretty ****e today, our defence was all over the shop but we have to give City credit for the way they played today. Too many players didn't turn up.

All our players were ball watching today. Standing still all the time. Looks like they had given up after the pen. I am relieved because we have not suffered a heavy defeat today.

WE WERE THE BETTER TEAM IN THE 1.HALF. 2.HALF WAS JUST A BIG BLACK HOLE WITHOUT IT HAPPENING ANYTHING, EXCEPT A SOFT PENALTY TO MAN CITY ( IF THAT WAS A PENALTY THEN WE SHOULD HAVE HAD ONE EARLIER ON LUKAKU). CITY ARE A BETTER TEAM THAN US, THEY WILL END ABOVE US ON THE TABLE, AND I AM HAPPY WE WENT OUT THERE TO GET A WIN. I PREFER THAT MENTALITY ABOVE GOING FOR A DRAW. HOME AGAINST HULL IN THE NEXT GAME, AND I THINK WE WILL BE ****TING THEM.

This smells of knife to a gunfight, regardless of how much their team cost, we have dicked them everywhere over the years, today wasnt about money, today we just never really got going, far to many players off their games, Barks, Mirallas, Lukaku to name a few.

Few players really impressed, McCarthy was superb, ref was a pyar bellend, hopefully he will be in League One shortly, but even they dont deserve him, hes not the reason we lost tho, we lost cos we didnt turn up, but we move on, bring on Hull.
We have dicked them over the last few years.

With them and us having a different manager though.

Bolded part is the truth right there.

I AGREE!!! CAPS!!!

Are you insane? this is one game, Moyes had over 40 games.

I'm just pointing out how the general theme before the game was how this would be the all new Everton that went to one of these grounds and attacked. The fact is these matches are still going to be a tall order for us and we shouldn't really expect that to change for a while at least.

It is quite funny seeing so many people accept defeat against a good team away from home when that was one of the main sticks to beat Moyes with.

No, those sticks were, in no specific order:
Not winning an away league match at Liverpool, Arsenal, United or Chelsea
Negative, defensive tactics
The lack of timely substitutions or subbing in a defender for a striker when chasing the game
Bottling it in big games like the FA Cup semifinal vs the ****e
Blatantly lying about when he knew he'd be the United manager
Always lowering expectations
Being a lickspittle to Kenwright at every opportunity
Benching young players like Barkley after one mistake
Totally disrespecting the club that gave him his Premier League chance by his laughable transfer bids

I feel I should point out I wasnt having a pop at Martinez.

We lost cos we wasnt good enough on the day, money spent has nothing to do with it, thats the main focus of my point, I was in no way having a pop, in case people feel I was.
