The point about the full backs is valid imo. Two fantastic free kicks aside I've been disappointed with Baines as an attacking threat since Martinez. I'm hopeful this is due to Pienaar's absence more than it is tactics.

I havent seen much difference in Baines or coleman, both still getting forward. The only game i can think of is the city game which was difficult due to the city players they were up against. It probably seems like Baines is getting forward less because we attack down the right a lot more.

not true- he has been making significantly less scoring opportunities this year (re the stat being banded about all last season about him creating the most chances in Europe- he's significantly lower this year than where he was last year at this time).
 
Aye mate, but it's a leap to say the reason Baines is creating less, although this few games is a pretty shoddy statistical sample, is down to the tactics under Martinez as D410 states. Not even counting Pienaar being out, which has been mentioned, we're a more balanced side and more varied as an attacking unit. Coleman's development, Ross and Rom bossness = slightly less reliance on Baines at the moment.

This is good thing no?
