I couldn't believe that comment about his performances being "close to Baines" when I read it lol

This lad has practically been deified by some people on this forum.

Whoscored ratings.

Europa League
Garbutt : 7.34 (4,1) : Baines : 7.65 (5)

Premier League
Garbutt : 6.52 (3,1) : Baines : 7.26 (31)

Total
Garbutt : 6.97 : Baines : 7.32

I think that's reasonably close. Plus if you compare his ratings to some other players in the team e.g.

Barkley (Total) : 6.84
Stones (Total) : 7.03
Lukaku (Total) : 6.96
Coleman (Total) : 6.95

You can look through others if you want but they're the most relevant in terms of age and position.

What did Baines do the first half of the season?

Baines has been a bit ropey though this season.

And the fact that scores him that close to Stones shows what an utter wank stain most stats are

I don't give a monkey's, Ad.

Lies, damned lies etc., etc.

And he hasn't even played enough games for the first team to give any substance to or draw any meaningful conclusion from those statistics.

To suggest Garbutt is anywhere near the level of Baines is just nuckin' futz.

The fact of the matter is that he's being kept out of the team by consistently by far our best player. That's not his fault.

I don't think the ratings are stats. But rather a combination of stats and an unbiased opinion.

Look through them. They all look about right considering the season we've had. Maybe saying he was close to Baines was a bit of an exageration but Baines is our best player and one if not the best players in his position in the league.

Comparing him to Baines is unfair to begin with. Comparing him to Stones, Barkley and Lukaku is much fairer and he beats them all except Stones who he's very close to and look how we rate him.

That's what we're losing. A player close to Stones in a position we will need to fill in two or three years max.

Except being an unbiased opinion that his agent might use to determine his value.
Agents are horrible [Poor language removed] tho. I very much doubt tho that an agent would be lined up with "well he averages 8 in the mirror roberto" line when negotiations take place
