Lukakus successor

Look. When we flogged Lineker, we worried where the goals would come from. Truth us, before, and after Lineker, we won titles by spreading the goals around the team. Nobody is in irreplaceable, and if we make a bunch of money, we've used the Lukaku mercenary well.
If he doesn't want to be remembered as our (proper) top scorer, and fears Dixie's shadow, it's up to him.

The problem is we have no other good goal scorers in the rest of the team. If we want a new striker who holds up play and passes the ball around for others to score then we also need a new set of attacking mid fielders and wingers who can score goals regularly.

Anthony martial
To be honest Martial would be a good shout, I like that type of player quick and direct. As good as Rom is when we play the big team we struggle with the way we set up to accommodate him, we need to be quick and direct in them games and Lukaku style doesn't really allow that. So regardless whether he stays or goes we do need someone like Marcial.

Going to be tough to replace him obviously. If there is no obvious signing we need to just strengthen other positions until we find a suitable replacement. Looking for a future top striker is more realistic as we aren't going to attract an established quality striker, a roll of the dice at a Dutch based player or something.
Agree. Do what we did with Rom. Doubt if we're yet in a position to attract top striker on a similar level to Rom. Rather than replace him with a Deeney or that ilk, I'd go after the next Rom. Dembele, Abraham or the Ajax lad. If they have any sense and a good agent they would jump at the chance as they need plaging time at this stage in their career. Plus hopefully we, as a club, will develop quickly enough to retain their services in the long term unlike Lukaku.
