Lukakus successor

Solonke looks to want to leave on a free this summer. Would he accept coming to us as back up to who ever the first choice striker will be?
Didnt realise he was on a free although I had heard the rumours about his wage denands etc. He is in the same age group as DCL, Lookman etc so he'll know plenty of players here from the England set up.

Solanke's a strange one though. He was top dog coming up through the ranks at both Chelsea and England, but seems to have hit a brick wall over the last year. He's now been overtaken by Tammy Abraham at both club and International level. There has to be a question mark over his attutude. Theres no doubt the talent is there but we've seen lots of talented players go by the wayside.

Would he join us?. He won't get more opportunity at a bigger club than us so he'd be daft not to. Would it be a risk?. Probably but not a huge one as we'd only have to pay a development fee, but I can see his wage demands being an issue. Overall, I'm not sure if his character makes him an Everton type player if that makes sense. I may be misjudging the lad as I don't know him, but Walsh normally goes after players with a certain character, a degree of humility and a willingness to work and be part of a team. I look at Solanke and see an individual.

Koeman seems to rate Calvert-Lewin so I'm guessing he'll be our back up striker regardless of Lukaku staying or going.

I think he came out in the media recently and denied demanding a huge salary. Seemed to imply that story had been planted by others.

"If Lukaku does leave - and that is by no means certain - Everton might even reconsider their stance on Oumar Niasse."

Just took this from the BBC sport website lollollollol

He's rinsed the club of 60k PW after refusing a Summer move. He's crap and his bridges are burnt.

Telegraph & Dom Solanke
It’s been almost a year since the Telegraph first claimed that Chelsea striker Dom Solanke was demanding a pay rise.

Back in April 2016, rumours spread that Solanke, now 19, was trying to force Chelsea into giving him a new £50,000 a week contract as well as first team guarantees at Stamford Bridge in order for the forward to commit his future to the club.

According to widespread reports, Solanke currently receives £7,000 a week. The teenager’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Time to say sorry
On Thursday, the broadsheet have printed an apology in their paper, admitting the Solanke story was false.

The Telegraph told their readers:

On 18 February 2017 we published an allegation that Dominic Solanke was demanding wages of £50,000 per week from Chelsea Football Club as part of his contract negotiations, We understand that no such financial demands have been made by Mr Solanke and we are happy to make this clear.

Solanke has since celebrated the Telegraph’s retraction on social media with the phrase “don’t believe everything you read”.

Liverpool have been linked to Solanke in recent times.

Id definitely prefer Abrahams of the two. Him and Batshuyai if he goes to Chelsea I'd insist on.

Lookman Calvert lewin batshuyai & Tammy Abraham would score more than lukaku probably be similar costs & for the first time in a long time competiton up front.

I'm more than happy to stick with rom but Koeman & Walsh are paid a lot of money this is there time

Fully agree on Abrahams mate. Not sure on Batshuyai but havent seen much of him to be fair. I know we were heavily linked with him before Lukaku signed permanently. Following year he signs for Marseille for buttons and next minute their quoting silly figures. How much did he go for?. Over £30m I think.

Conte doesn't seem to trust him. He's even played without recognised striker when Costa hasnt been available.
