Lukakus successor

I wouldn't be too keen on someone say 29 or over. But that's just me. If said person came in and slotted then it wouldn't take long to change my mind.

Some of the players mentioned would mean we'd have to change our style too.

Basically we need Rom's brother to not be a sh*te full back really.

If we got Demebele we wouldn't have to change much tactically I suppose...

But I just think it's a year too soon for him

If only Rom had stuck around another season FFS, things would have matched up better

News Headlines for the Summer:
July 17 - Sky Sports understands Everton to launch dramtic bid for Robert Lewandowski, according to our man Jim White
August 17 - Everton are in advanced talks with Karim Benezema according to some media outlets
Transfer Deadline Day - Everton sign Shane Long

I'd weep for weeks if it's a Austin, Carroll, Deeney type.

it won't be. We may get something like that as a backup, but there's no way on hell's earth we'd sell the league's top scorer and guaranteed 20 goals a season for about £70m and then buy mid table clobber. It wouldn't make sense on any level.

That's the problem isn't it?

We'll be getting a ton of money for Lukaku in theory. But won't be able to spend it on an equivalent player such as Lacazette or Aubamayang or maybe slightly below that level as they simply won't come here.

Which as you say leaves us not buying the finished article which adds an element of risk as they might end up being crap.

I HATE THIS
I hate it as well mate but there's nothing to be done about it. Lukaku was never going to be here his whole career, at some point we were going to be thrust back into the dark ages of inconsistent strikers.

The ambitious option would be Belotti (think he's probably Koeman's dream striker), but he's got some mad release clause I think. And face is too big. Lacazette would be a good swap too, but he'll be off somewhere else no doubt.

If we don't sign either of these players then I'm going to blame it all on the board, regardless of how little I know about how it all works.

I said on twitter that I would like us to get a plan A and a back up. Just buying Lacazette or Icardi on their own will still require support.

I wouldn't mind say Berardi and Tavares as a duo. My personal favourite right now is andre silva of porto, would love him.
Another duo could be the Klaassen/Dolberg partnership, why take one when we can make a statement of 'we can take it all' ?

Belotti's the one for me, looks similar to rom in terms of style but looks technically miles ahead and much more comfortable on the ball,
re: the release clause, reyes had a 100 mill clause and signed for arsenal for 17....
