I agree completely, but Mourinho is so arrogant I don't doubt that they would sell him. Needs to satisfy his massive ego.

As good as he is, he still needs to work on certain parts of his game, Mourinho likes ready made players, Lukaku's done at Chelsea and they'll flog him to us for about £20m. Watch.

They'll buy Costa or Falcao or someone that's in their prime, let him develop at a 'lesser' club and then buy him when he's in his prime if he reaches his potential. He never will if he stays there, and they know that. They won't allow for him to play through drops in form like we would.
Chelsea will only play young players that are basically the finished article. They have no interest in developing players.
I don't think he'll be loaned again because he'll moan about it, so they'll sell. Otherwise I could see them pulling a Courtois and just loaning him until he's ready.

He's already probably the 6th best striker in the league though. There are no guarantees that whoever they replace him with would be as effective as him in this league.

I think they'll buy just to buy honestly. And they want the first best striker in the league, not sixth.

They'd have to be bloody good to be better than saurez, Aguero, Rooney, RVP and Sturridge like. Haven't watched Costa much but his goal scoring record doesn't suggest he'd be any better than them.
Chelsea have the money to buy it. They could drop 50-70 million on a striker this summer. They've been clearing funds to stay on the good side of FFP assuming they buy huge. I fully expect them to buy Costa + someone.

Sturridge has scored 30 goals in 39 games for Liverpool. If they sign someone who can beat that then they'll be lucky!
He's also playing next to one of the top 2 strikers in the league.
Opens some up for him, don't you think? Sturridge is a very good striker, but he's better at Liverpool than he would be anywhere else. He's a great finisher and he has pace. The system is perfect for him, and Suarez next to him makes him even more deadly.
Chelsea should be able to afford a superior striker to Sturridge (or Lukaku).
