Lukaku V Kane and Barkley V Alli

The only reason Defoe isn't highly rated is his age. But you already knew that, and ignored it in order to introduce your strawman argument.
I brought up Defoe because there are holes in his game that put a ceiling on the level he played at. I think Lukaku will have similar issues.

Wow, I did not realize Kane's scoring record was that good. Does he take penalties?

I was going to say Lukaku and Alli but I'm not sure now. I don't think Lukaku gets enough credit for his assists and for the last couple of seasons, he's basically done it with poor midfield support, so I think I'll stick with Lukaku.

All 4 are great players.
Yeah, Kane does take penalties.

I would take Kane over Lukaku right now because I think he has a bit more to his game. Can create goals by himself, great with his back to goal. Lukaku has improved on this aspect though. Kane is also good at scoring all type of goals. In the box or out the area and his technique is brilliant.

Alli is playing better than Lukaku but think he is slightly overrated. Barkley I think in long term can develop into better player because more to his game. I don't think Alii is a game-changer while I think Barkley is. If Spurs are playing bad, Alli don't look good and I have seen a lot of games like City and Stoke where he scored but did not actually do much apart from that. But is that what makes him a great player? Being right place at right time and his goalscoring statistics for a 20 year old is brilliant.

Those things Kane done there is simply why I think he is the best striker in league tbh. Gols from absolutely nothing and ability to score from anywhere.

Defoe scores a lot of goals, regularly, for a dire team. If he and Kane swapped around tomorrow, Defoe would score plenty for Spurs but Kane would score far less for Sunderland... as proven by his reduced scoring rate with England.

The same stands true for Lukaku and Kane - swap them round and Rom would match / exceed Kane's scoring at Spurs, but Kane would not match Rom's scoring for us. IMHO.

I think we're just never going to agree on this one. As far as I'm concerned, there's a reason why players don't go above a certain level.

I disagree. Kane still contributes when not scoring. Rom is practically invisible. Kane would score less for Sunderland but would be an outlet for others and hold it up

This is correct.

When you look at the rest of the team that supports Kane, you have to wonder why he doesn't score more. Spurs have consistently enjoyed several seasons of great midfields. Rom would score more than Kane does with the likes of Dembele and Eriksen supplying him - he's comfortably better than Kane.

Barkley suffered in the latter two years of The Unmentionable One's reign, and this coincided the rise of Alli as a media jizz-fest favourite. I will be interested to see how the two of them both develop over the next 18 months

Lukaku comfortably better than Kane? Haha, come off it. Kane's goal scoring record is far better than Lukaku's. When do you ever see Lukaku score a goal like Kane's first today? Kane scores all types of goals. Lukaku has never even scored 20 league goals in a season, Kane is 1 goal away from doing it for three successive seasons. I know we are on GOT but Kane is the better striker, it's quite obvious.

Barkley is leagues ahead of Alli in every department except heading and runs into the box. Alli is hugely overrated and needs to up his game massively to fulfil the potential. Even Spurs fans aren't too bothered about him.

Kane/Lukaku is much of a muchness. Very different players with different attributes but worth noting Kane gets about 6 penalties a season to increase his goals

Even Spurs aren't worried about him? What?! Alli is easily the best young player in the league. His stats as playing as one of our attacking three behind Kane is 59 apps, 23 goals, 12 assists. No other player can match that in the PL, let alone a player who is 20 years old.

Dele Alli is an absolute gobshite, plays as a second striker, has Eriksen assisting him and Dembele and Wanyama doing his midfield work. Put Barkley in the Spurs team and see how good he would look!

Kane and Lukaku tight, read a stat somewhere that 30% of Kane's goals were penalties - both very good strikers though

Barkley playing for Spurs wouldn't get close to Alli's influence, goals, assists or otherwise.

Disagree. When has Kane ever ran from the half way line showing pace and power like Lukaku's last week? When has Kane scored a goal like the one at City away this season.

I think they are both at a very similar level, although Lukaku's scoring record is superior this season in my opinion as he hasn't had any penalties boosting his goal tally. Kane has scored 4 penalties.

Kane wouldn't score as many in our team either.
