Lukaku Agent: “Something’s changed at Everton”

To get the big move he wants he needs to use the euros as a shop floor. That didn't go to plan in his first game and Belgium are playing like a team of individuals so now he realises Bayern etc is not going to happen

Can't say I follow there coming's and goings a great deal, but have PSG signed anyone to replace Zlatan yet? They seem the only real possibility to me. Juve can't afford him, which means no Italian club can. Real and Barca won't want him, and they're the only clubs in Spain that could afford him. Bayern wouldn't want him. City have Aguero so can't see him going there. Spurs wouldn't want/afford him, and Arsenal don't have a track record of splurging that kind of cash.

All of which leaves PSG or slithering back to either a club that didn't want him or a manager that didn't want him.

Bayern or Dortmund mate, if one of there big players goes and they have sponds.

At the very least, Raiola is hedging his bets, using words that are both true and flattering to describe what's happening at Everton, and so paving the way for Lukaku to stay without either losing face or alienating the fans.
Of course, Raiola might be getting the sense that no-one wants to pay our asking price, but it suggests also that the perception of Everton in the football world is changing. "Everton don't need the money" - so can afford to take a tough stance because they're no longer carrion for vultures circling. And if they're now loaded, it will serve an agent well to stay on their right side. If we're being buttered up by a top agent, it can only mean good things.
For all his faults, I want Lukaku to stay, for all sorts of reasons. Same with Stones. What I'd also like us to do is buy a top centre half and centre forward to put pressure on them. It seems we no longer have to bend over backwards with players in the hope they'll keep liking us, tolerating poor form and attitude because we're afraid of upsetting them. Now they have to prove themselves to us, and keep proving it. The dynamic has shifted, more Remain rather than Legsit.

I was reading one of the rags saying that Arsenal are after Rom with a £31M offer, a while back this would have had a faint whiff of credibility about it and we would be worried. Today though is different and most Evertonians would just burst out laughing. This is what Moshiri has brought to our club.......

It's a good feeling isn't it !

Bayern no chance, and it's completely unheard of Dortmund spending that kind of money even if they sell a player or two

Even if Aubameyang decides to ride off (which is likely) Dortmund would never be able to replace him with someone as expensive as Rom.

As was mentioned before, Rom's agent is hedging his bet. He wants to save face after his past comments hinting a departure for Rom.

However, I do sense a bit of bitterness from supporters over this. I think this is actually a great thing! We have enough money to slap some of these overzealous agents around.

2 things have happened here.

1. Top clubs are not queing up to buy Lukaku ( despite his father's optimism )

2. Everton have now become a more attractive proposition in terms of who they can attract to the team to make it more competitive and how much Lukaku can be paid in salary.

I'm more than happy for RL to stay and enjoy the party but boy his attitude needs to improve.

If I see anyone complaining something like "Only changed his mind because of the money!", then I'm going to slap them with a Ronald Koeman sized fish.

Soon, Lukaku is going to utter something new on the subject, not just old stuff being re-hashed, and that should give us the biggest clue as to his current thinking. A few weeks back he said he would talk to the new manager "out of courtesy". Presumably he still intends to honour that.

One thing I'm not getting, though... Didn't we know about about Everton's changes way before this? What took Rom's agent this long to recognize that? Perhaps he wasn't convinced that Moshiri was going to get the job done?

Dortmund mate, Seriously?

Check both there and Bayerns history in the transfer markets and the types of fee they have paid mate, and you really thionk they are going to break the Bundesliga record by about 20-25m to sign Lukaku?
