'We' seem to have a price in mind - a high price
Somebody offers to match it - we think about it and decide yes or no
Rom either stays or goes
likes it or lumps it
No need, at this stage, for any wage rise, come back next June and we'll talk about all manner of things...including how you've done in the last 11-12mths.

Be a big dilemma for him if PSG came in for him with an acceptable bid.

It would be a modern-day definition of "caught between a rock and a hard place" as applied to the transfer market.

They will have to pay enormous wages and fees in order to attract players of the calibre needed to complete in the CL.

Their domestic league is turning into a farce.

Not at all sure of their attractiveness amongst the elite superstar pool.

PSG supposedly after Lacazette for £30-40m so if that happens, his most realistic chance of a move is gone.

As always said, the ball is in our court to a large extent.

He will go though if someone meets the asking price. I think we probably want to sell after his attitude, but we will refuse to be bullied into it.

Perhaps the penny has dropped that he's done himself no favours whatsoever.

Can't say I follow there coming's and goings a great deal, but have PSG signed anyone to replace Zlatan yet? They seem the only real possibility to me. Juve can't afford him, which means no Italian club can. Real and Barca won't want him, and they're the only clubs in Spain that could afford him. Bayern wouldn't want him. City have Aguero so can't see him going there. Spurs wouldn't want/afford him, and Arsenal don't have a track record of splurging that kind of cash.

All of which leaves PSG or slithering back to either a club that didn't want him or a manager that didn't want him.

Funny how he says 'Rom has the qualities to play in Italy' - even though he was completely schooled by Italian defenders last week.

I'm sure an earlier quote from his agent said that Italy wouldn't be a good place for him to go because it's not easy to score goals (i.e. Rom's not quite good enough). Now they realise it was a mistake to say that.

Yes, he chats sht. Yes it's infuriating, Yes he needs to improve - yes, someone apparently wants to part with £65M to buy him.. all very interesting but if he puts his head down and delivers 25 goals a season I'll live with that - to be fair thousands of other footballers talk sht and want a bigger club. Get over it and take whatever comes. If he stays and delivers without mouthing off then good, if he goes he won't be the first or last to do what he's done. There are others in our squad who have been just as vocal in recent times about being unhappy and - after the last two seasons - it's hardly surprising.

he wont be gone unless they pay 65m reasonable bids wont matter

What I think the agent means is:

Basically no one will pay over £30m for him, so we are starting our process of backtracking and he will be an Everton player next year, and even though he doesn't actually want to play for you we will very much except a new contract with another £30,000 added on to his wages. Oh yeah and if he has an outstanding season then we will be deffo be off next year.

Now he may want to stay - sell him.
We dont want nor need players who dont want to play for us. We aren't that Everton anymore.

Yes there may be a shortage of top, top class strikers about, but I am massively confident we'd find one who wants to come and take us into the top 4/5.

Ighalo got 16 goals last season - he'd jump at the chance to play for us.
Mane got 11.

I reckon we could get both of those for the money we get for Lukaku and we'd be stronger, nor weaker.

There is no doubt Lukaku is a quality player in the making. I'm just tired of hearing him flirting every summer. It's disrespectful to the club and us as fans.
An old saying though don't cut your nose off to spite your face if he stays, and we add to the squad in a big way win something or get champions league football- Lukaku has a stormer of a season his value just goes up, and up!

It's a fascinating change of affairs really. Towards the fag end of Martinez' rein I would have been sure that a good few of our leading lights would have left the club in the summer, but I wouldn't be at all surprised now if they all stayed.

Unless a move to PSG transpires for mega money then I can see Lukaku staying, whilst Stones and Barkeley aren't getting a sniff in for England at the moment, which must surely be doing wonders for keeping their own feet firmly on the ground as regards to just where they both are as players (ie a long way to go in their development).

It seems more than possible that this summer the incomings and outgoings will be purely determined by who Koeman wants in/out rather than any player forcing our hand. That's got to be a good scenario in anyone's book, especially with a sizeable budget behind him.
