the scoring was with regard to the inspiration comment...the goal he got against Leicester was inspirational, wasn't it?
It inspired me yeah mate.

But no one's saying he hasn't got it in him to do something world class, he just doesn't do it very often.

Decent point tbh although I do think we had the better of the chances in an overall boring game. Don't think we ever looked like conceding despite being reasonably sloppy in midfield which is a positive sign to show that our defenders are getting their act together.

Pretty confident we can give Lille and Krasnodar a good hiding at Goodison which should cement us as group winners

The way you feel defending McGeady is probably akin to how many other posters feel when defending defending Naismith from you lol.

Agree with you, though. McGeady's a decent palyer to have. He was unlucky not to score and did okay tonight, despite being a bit wasteful with his final ball.

I agree with that mate. I'm just not prepared to throw him under the bus when he doesn't do it constantly. It's comical that people talk about the school of science and won't give some slack to players with flair when they have less than stellar games though.

The thing is, we looked like a side who are used to playing tricky away games in Europe. As @davek said, Lille are no mugs. Regulars in Europe, at home, more than a decent team.

Sure, some of our passing, well, final ball, seemed a bit meh at times, (Martinez has said the pitch was lousy), but that is how European matches away are.

And Eto is superb in these games. Still to be convinced that he is not as important as Martinez is for them.
