Is that not the middle ground that Labour totally lost in the last election?

Pretty much every election. As long as you are doing well in your own social league you think you are no longer working class because you have a bigger car than the bloke next door.

I expect Labour to win the next election only because the Tories have completely messed up in the response to COVID-19.

But make no mistake they'll not last in power too long based on the current mob who look at the working class with disdain.

We drastically need a modern SDP party imo as the left is in tatters at present - but im sure Mr Middle class Starmer will unite us all against the elite.
I expect them to win as this government have made a Harry Halls over the COVID-19 -

The far left - they are no friends of the working class.

If they want to help BAME people then unite people and take a stand to the class system and wealth divide in this country.

Poverty is colour blind - you have white, black, asian folk dying of poverty and living in squalor whilst all the far left and middle class care about is social media protests and playing the us against them card.

People need to wisen up and realise the elite on both the left and right are taking the average joe for a ride.

Spot on. The far left hates the working class so much that its main objective is to permanently redistribute wealth and power to it. Sick of the bloody far left elite, whatever that is.

Communism is a pipe dream and has just as much problems as unregulated capitalism.

Thats why this country needs a proper centre left party - someone who understands the positives & negatives of both socialism & capitalism without blindly pretending that one system is the answer to all our problems whilst the other is evil.

Basically said that tearing down the statue of Colston (a literal slaver who profited off owning and trading 80,000 people) was a disgrace

Oh. As Home Secretary she can hardly say anything else I guess.

As one of a handful on here who had heard of Colston, and knew he had done slave stuff about 300 years ago, the statue getting lobbed in the docks was not pleasant to see, but the general feeling down here is a massive shrug of the shoulders.

To be fair, if it weren’t for Covid I’d likely have moved back to Bristol by now and would’ve been at the protests. I’ve heard they’re going to be renaming Colston hall now too, which is probably for the best.

I saw the mayor basically came out and said the statue was an affront today which wasn’t particularly surprising.

I’ve been proud to see Bristol turning out as it did for BLM, as I still see it as home, just a shame it’s happened during a global pandemic

They have.
Have they. The people organising the marches and demonstrations here in the U.K. ? Have they distanced themselves from the damage to statues and cenotaphs and flag burning in Bristol and London? I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere if they have
