Did you just genuinely compare Black Lives Matter to the Nazis? You do realise that the Nazis tried erasing history by burning books, wiping out history etc.
History serves a big purpose and not just the history that you personally agree with.

Which is exactly why the thugs involved have smashed stuff up as they know the police are at the mercy of the social media brigade desperate to paint them as violent aggressors.
What is the point of a statue then if it isn't to celebrate and honour someone's life? Of course that is the reason it is there.
I mean it already kind of was a riot. blm in Liverpool was peaceful and respectful. London was disgusting.Utter nonsense that. Not causing a riot is smart policing.

But can’t that be done equally in a museum or even better as you can put more context around it?It's going to cost the tax payer a load of money to clean up what those thugs have done. Last time I checked it was illegal to damage property and they weren't social distancing to boot.
I haven't got a particular truck in the matter should there be statues of this bloke, but by all accounts he did more for Bristol than just deal in slaves. If we retrospectively start going down historical figures and checking do they actually deserve to be seen in streets nowadays I think we'll find ourselves on sticky wickets. These things can be used as discussion points in education, this bloke did a, b and c that was good but also did x, y and z that wasn't.

That second bit is probably why it would be being done. It wouldn’t be the first instance of that (putting things out there to discredit the cause) even during these UK demos either - for example I saw a “killed by the police” list-meme doing the rounds earlier that had the London Bridge 2019 and Westminster Bridge 2017 murderers names prominently shown on it. I know cops did kill them but they did have good reason!

It's to celebrate someone in the context of their own era. That's it. You can then learn the positives and negatives from their lives by having such records in place.
Where does it end mate? A dozen former US Presidents owned slaves, eight whilst in office. Do we burn every book and destroy every monument that makes mention of them? No! You learn from them.
These aint black lives matter - they are thugs.
It is and I'm sure there was a thread on here a while back listing all the roads, buildings etc connected to slave trade etc in Liverpool but I can't find it.Penny Lane? Isn't that something to do with slavery?
I think he was comparing the destruction and erasure of history to be in line with some of the policies the nazi's used. I believe the inclusion of the nazis was for emphasis and to enable self reflection of people who are outright condoning the behaviour because (as with the nazis) it's a slippery slope when you get started.Did you just genuinely compare Black Lives Matter to the Nazis?
Burning Beatles memorabilia when?It is and I'm sure there was a thread on here a while back listing all the roads, buildings etc connected to slave trade etc in Liverpool but I can't find it.
