I just posted and then deleted, a Twitter video of a white lad getting stabbed by black lads in Ireland yesterday.
It was too graphic to post on here IMO.

It's the second such stabbing in the last 2 days in Ireland apparantly.

Whole thing is going to explode into revenge attacks isn't it.

Wow I searched for it and that is disgusting! Judging by the comments a lot of the Irish people are getting fed up with the racially motivated attacks.

Sadly all this will cause is further violence and racism.

The police had the chance to nip it in the bud early doors but were terrified of upsetting the do gooders had they waded in on the minority of trouble causers.

Yes, the way to solve widely supported protests against police brutality was for the police to wade in.

Controversial I’m sure and I appreciate I’ll get stick for it on here as I know he’s disliked but I don’t think I’d be particularly happy with them tearing a Churchill statue down . Firstly To be clear I don’t think it’ll happen and secondly I think it would work against the movement .

Getting rid of a statue, which celebrates individuals, isn't erasing history.

But the statue isnt a memorial no one celebrates it.

These thugs are no better than the EDL lot and have hijacked what could have been a positive peaceful movement to promote equality.

Let me ask will this win hearts and minds of the white majority in this country - or will trying to rip down Churchill's statue only miff a lot of people and result in further racial tension?

Nah. Trying to work out who the statue was of that they lobbed in the docks. It wasnt the one that was pulled down, thats for sure, and I think its a relatively new one. So probably wasnt one of Colston.

The only one I can think of is one of John Cabot, who discovered Merica, and was just a navigator.

It was the same one of Colston. There are threads on Twitter where you can see the whole thing from the tearing down to throwing in the river.

History serves a big purpose and not just the history that you personally agree with.

He wasn't a "racist" by todays standards - he basically dealt in property. The concept of racism was barely a thing. The statue was celebrating his personal altruism in Bristol, NOT the way he made his money. The slave trade was socially accepted in his lifetime, in the 17th/18th century.

Learn from history, don't erase it. Understand context. If these protesters stopped and thought about it for one minute, perhaps they'd realise that if that statue had been destroyed before, they wouldn't have learned this story now and been able to draw the lessons from how it came to be.

What is the point of a statue then if it isn't to celebrate and honour someone's life? Of course that is the reason it is there.

That second bit is probably why it would be being done. It wouldn’t be the first instance of that (putting things out there to discredit the cause) even during these UK demos either - for example I saw a “killed by the police” list-meme doing the rounds earlier that had the London Bridge 2019 and Westminster Bridge 2017 murderers names prominently shown on it. I know cops did kill them but they did have good reason!
