Perhaps they can all go around to your place and make themselves heard then....or would you rather they burn someone else out.......
Has there been lots of riots round your way in the last month then Pete?
ive explained that I haven’t made up my mind on it yet.
I don’t like violence and I think it’s unnecessary but then I haven’t been oppressed or marginalised or ignored when my peaceful protests were made. I’m a lot happier when anger is being taken out on *things* than on people. But rather than a very small number of sentimental things that I have been given, i care a lot less about stuff. If one of those sentimental things had been damaged (or day a family members grave) however I’d be livid.
I get angry sometimes and so I can kinda empathise with that idea and I know for a fact that if someone told me to calm down or whatever then they’d be told to [Poor language removed] off. That being said I’ve found more cathartic ways to manage my anger rather than take it out on those around me (like arguing with people on the internet)
however I know in my youth I’ve displayed anger in less healthy ways and my anger was less well founded than the anger we are seeing now.
I do know that when I was angry enough to take it out on things I was treated with compassion. Nearly always people are angry because they are hurt. Yes, the effects of the anger should have consequences (like violence should have severe consequences) but if you want to solve what’s going on right now then maybe we should focus on why do many people are hurting. Make headroads into that and then vandalism becomes less of a problem.
