Current Affairs London Protests

That's been my argument all along and why I could see this sort of thing coming a mile off. It's called cause and effect.

Same thing happened in Liverpool though.

Loads of people piled into the Britannia in Vauxhall and had a lock in. The police were called and it kicked off.

I’m not sure we need to link this to BLM, but anytime there are riots and protests there is always a small minority that kick off for the sake of it.

Exactly. This is equivalent to football hooliganism really.

They have the whip hand on the Police too and know it.

Footage of Police going in heavy handed and fighting with a large group of mainly black lads regardless, isn`t going to go down too well given the current climate.

What you are seeing is all about power and the fact there has been an imbalance of it for so long.

It’s misguided, it’s coming from a dark place. But it is all power.

the bit that I saw where the guy had the machete or pipe (it was difficult to tell), was just that. Fronting. From young lads who absolutely no other means of exerting control other than this way.

Same as football hooliganism.

it’s one of the downsides of the patriarchy and the idea of masculinity.

It’s hard to treat violent young lads with compassion but ultimately a lack of compassion is why they are where they are in the first place.

It`s nothing to do with BLM, it`s just thugs seizing the opportunity to kick off.

It comes down to a lack of opportunity through a social class divide. That could easily have been a bunch of white lads in Liverpool.

But the kicker is the empowerment that the approval of anarchy has given that very set demographic recently. It's not a coincidence.

And it solves nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I know what a party is. I’ve held loads similar actually in Brixton nearly 20 years ago. When it was a lot tougher than it was now.

That wasn’t a little scuffle after a big one.

and there was never rows with the police at those?

You think promoting social justice and opposing racism is sinister?

You can do that without getting involved with political movements.

All just feels a bit forced on us from all directions - most people are not racist so stop bombarding them with politics and instead make the message actually meaningful.

Same with the Coronavirus- the media were a disgrace during lockdown scaring people into buying up all the bog roll and encouraging people to grass on their neighbour for walking the dog twice a day.

Sinister.

Here's the takeaway mate for the majority of people in this country.

"No wonder they're targeted more when you look at this. Can't blame the police."

Whether fairly or not, this will be linked to BLM's actions over the last month. And to be perfectly honest, I think it's fair - I think there's a direct correlation between this and the approval of anarchy. The vandalism of public property has been celebrated - the message was as long as you think you're right, go ahead and commit crimes.

That clearly is going to empower people to follow suit.
There are certainly many in the media and on social media who will be promoting this very point
