This country is the absolute pits.

it’s run by idiots and occupied by disgusting animals.

some might cheer at this but if I could I’d emigrate.

Jesus. Hope they're ok. Any idea as to why they were galloping like that?
Dispersing stragglers. The Guardian has a video from just before, they trot through to get the streets clear and move people on who were hanging round (similar to a few times they’ve trotted down the Bulliens Rd, it’s not exactly intimidating) whatever happened with that one horse and rider that makes it look like they stormed in really exaggerates the action.

Edit: apparently the horse had been hit.

You can support local community without referring to race/ skin colour.

Otherwise how can you ever seek to end racism.

There has to be an understanding of what structural racism is though. The default position is that most of the businesses/top positions in positions etc are disproportionately inhibited by white people. It's a difficult argument because white people are such a big majority here, most whites don't own the businesses either. I think we have to fundamentally view things from a class perspective, but I can understand why black people may have a different viewpoint.

If we boil it down, and drop the PC's that seems to inhibit most of these debates, the glib reality is most of the economy is governed by largely white people spending money in shops largely owned by white shareholders.

To a degree what Joshua says makes a lot of sense. Capitalist society as we know it really depends upon what sort of wealth you can accumulate or spend. So if you have a commodity (money) you feasibly have some choice of where to spend it. If you really want to tackle some of the wider issues within the black community- drug dealing, gangsterism, absenteesim etc then creating a viable market where there are jobs, businesses, opportunities etc within those communities is a good way forward. Again it's not really my argument, but I can see sense in it. I mean this is quite often how most migrant populations act when they arrive. They essentially spend and keep money within their community. There are also initiatives with the "scouse pound" I believe to keep money earned spent locally.

I mean as a closing point, I would say we all probably need to be thinking about these things. Not just from a black and white angle, but in the modern age be thinking about where and how we spend our money. We haven't got a lot of power, but the little we have comes through money we have and we should support businesses who in my view pay a decent wage to employees, register to pay tax here as opposed to abroad etc. High streets are dying on their feet currently, and we do have to start to think about what the new high streets will look like.
