Shark well and truly jumped.
I thought it was a deft way of placing a well known brand in the spotlight - not so much to make a serious point about monkey branding, but to underline the racist origins of the founders of many corporate organisations who's ideas on humanity were pretty 'kin rank.

Nothing wrong with that, and nothing wayward about how she approached the matter.

I can't think off hand of anything less important to talk about than that right now. All it does is highlight the stupidity and lack of imagination behind peoples' thought processes at the moment and prove Boris Johnson 100% right.

It doesn't. He is massively on the defensive on the two major issues of the day: the virus and racism. Tweets like hers underline the connective tissue between commerce and racism, and that's not something the overtly racist Johnson wants.

It will with some. Others it will prompt into looking closely at the origins of other corporate bodies.

If Kellogg's believe all black people are monkeys due to their marketing, they logically must all believe all white people are elves.

There's nothing to be learned or derived from it. It's pointless.

The monkeys were never the issue. The racist founder of Kelloggs was the issue. Can you not see that?

A guy who was at a far right, violent, racist demo.

He isn't just some bloke on a night out needing a piss.
All I was pointing out was that he wasn't defending him being a fascist. It was the act of pissing in the street he was defending.

I agree with you he deserves what he gets by the way.

Oh yes, this guy.

Very relevant.

No, sorry, but that guy has absolutely zero relevance now and targeting him does nothing.

"Kellogg was a racist a hundred years ago!"
"Yes. And?"
"He was a racist!"
"We know. What's the relevance now?"
".... He was a racist!"

Does and achieves absolutely nothing, as Johnson said.

Whereas something like this:

... does. Because it's a modern ad that is clearly a racist depiction and is worth highlighting.

So basically you're agreeing that the tactic of tackling racist imagery is a useful tool to throw light on the foundations of western corporate institutions.

Of course it is, when relevant.

Her example? No. That's grasping at straws. A disgraced MP trying to find attention and saying something deliberately stupid to get it.

If agree that Kellog was a bad racist and dont look at the box am I still allowed coco pops?

What if I swap the bags round in the boxes?

Damn. Now I have to go buy some rice krispies.
