Didn't need to be though did he ? A simple fixed penalty fine would have done the trick. From the picture I saw he took a slash at the side of the memorial, rather than pissing over it, so the chances are, he was blithely ignorant of where he was, which ( being blindly ignorant ) sums him, and his scummy mates up quite nicely.
Storm in a teacup, and he was charged with outraging public decency, rather than a standard civil charge, to play to Mail readers and the like.
Is he a knobhead ? Yes, undoubtebly.
Should he have been punished in some way ? Definitely, but mainly because he was stupid enough to get caught.
Was it worth criminalising him ? For me, nah ( though who knows, he may already have had a record ). Plainly you disagree like, which is fine, but there was far worse footage seen over the last couple of weeks. The lad trying to burn the flag on the cenotaph last week and the the thug hurling racist abuse at some black lads while flipping them a nazi salute with a "Sieg Heil" thrown in this weekend come immediately to mind.
Haha, behave yourself squire, never read so much bollocks, in so few words, in my life !
Well, actually, I have, but I'll run with you being number one for now.
