Current Affairs London Protests

The far right were not the ones making headlines pulling down statues, that would obviously provoke the other side and I did see a few videos where they (or people of that race that were in the vicinity at the time) kicked off against the police to the point they had them fleeing in retreat.

No one side is pure in all this, both sides have bad apples and if people on the BLM were all pacifists they wouldn't be in the centre of London facing off against those far right racists. Try to understand some people love a bit of anarchy and a good scrap.

I'm not saying a very small number of people didn't get aggressive. They were met with a fair bit of it too. One statue was pulled down - of a slave trader. It's really odd if someone's getting worked up about it.

One side is many many many rungs higher up than the other

As a bit of balance, went for a walk this afternoon down to Dulwich and back via Peckham, Camberwell and Elephant, and the streets and parks were full of people having a good time enjoying the sunshine. None of the daftness seen in the theme park of central London.
I think I saw you on the live feed, do you have a union jack tattoo on your head?

Yeah but 1 side is trying to end racism, the other side is defending their right to be racist.

2 wrongs don't make a right, but there is always a lesser evil.
Dont think those veterans were doing anything other than saying we dont want are monuments desecrated.
Dont forget to some of them it's in memory of there friends.
not fair to put them in with some of the other rabble, nor for that matter is it fair to put all BLM people in with the people who ruined there protests.

Didn't say that, but you keep going for ad hominem attacks rather than anything of any substance.

You kinda did:

"BLM provoked them by wanting people to stop being racist"

No the BLM provoked them by stupidy ripping down statues, defacing the queen/churchill monuments, trying to burn the flag whilst standing on the cenotaph & attacking police.

I would hazard a guess had none of that happened the far right nut jobs wouldn't have bothered to show up in the 1st place.

It’s not.

Section 13 of the Public Order Act can be used to ban marches / gatherings if there is a belief that there would be serious public disorder if the march/gathering went ahead.
The Chief Con would liaise with the local council and make an application to do so, but it's up to the Home Secretary to make the decision whether to authorise it.

Sect 12 and 14 of the act are restrictions that can be set if the gatherings aren't banned: examples are like today where a curfew was set or restricted locations.

Section 30 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act is for small scale dispersers due to regular actions of anti-social behaviour order and is an Inspector or above.

It's different in Northern Ireland because of the commissions etc. that they have in place with regards to marches and how it goes rodeo quite quickly over there.

Well quite, I did make an error by saying both sides have bad apples. The BLM has some and the far right are all.

I doubt any of them are veterans.

He wasn't stabbed.

There is another, longer video from another angle.

The man who was "stabbed", gets up and walks away completely fine.
There's another video of someone who appears to be stabbed or at least his throat cut, but I'm not sure if it's worth putting the link on here.

Search Raheem Kassam on Twitter if you are interested. Hopefully it isn't how it looks!
