No! Why are you focusing on her? To deflect away from the real incident

On the brave black woman helping a white man.

The 'real incident' was a police officer attempting to arrest someone - for what we don't know. What crime had the man committed? We don't know. The policeman threw him to the ground and there was a melee. Others joined in to try and get the man away from the police - similar to what happens on numerous occasions up and down the country every day of the week.A brave police woman tried to intervene, got kicked and then the video stopped.

Why do people resort to calling others racists. I know loads of people who are upset about the flag burning at the cenotaph? Does this make them racists? .
That's a fair comment mate.

If you were familiar with my posting history you would know that I'm not one of those posters who use the racist card as if I'm handing out sweets to kids. You would also know that, whilst I have empathy for the BLM cause, I've been very critical on here at the violence and vandalism that has seemingly been carried out in their name. I'm not bothered about statues of slave traders etc per se, I just feel strongly that if they are to be removed it should be done in an orderly and, preferably, democratic fashion. I do consider myself somewhat patriotic though, and I was angered at scenes of the flag burning, cenotaph vandalism, and pictures this morning of Queen Victoria's statue being vandalised.

But here's the thing. Despite my strong feelings, there is no way on earth I would even contemplate turning up in London or elsewhere at the weekend to "protect" such property from potential vandalism. The people who are saying they are going to create this "ring of steel" are basically football fans (I very nearly used the word hooligans there) and right wing groups. Basically people who will be itching for a fight, and even the Daily Mail referred to them as right wing thugs in an article yesterday. In my opinion, most of these people will also be racists and it's a term that I don't use lightly. There will no doubt be some who are not racially motivated but I did say most, not all.

Let’s agree to disagree mate

From a neutral perspective and seeing speeches from figures like Anthony Joshua, it's starting to look more like an uprising to claim the country back or something.

This doesn't help the cause:

Police officer pinned down and kicked in 'disgraceful' attack on north-east London street.

View attachment 90486

A "sickening" attack on police officers who stopped to help an alleged assault victim in north-east London has been condemned by the Home Secretary.

Video shared on social media showed an officer pinned down on the ground and being kicked, while his colleague is pushed when she tries to intervene.

Several men, including one with a baseball bat, are seen surrounding the officers swearing, shouting and filming on their phones, with one appearing to take a selfie during the assault.

Both officers suffered minor injuries in the incident, in Frampton Park Road, Hackney, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, Scotland Yard said.

They had been flagged down by a member of the public who said they had been attacked and pointed them towards the suspects, a spokeswoman added.

The Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file officers, said attacks on officers seem to be increasing, adding: "Yet again this starkly shows the dangers metpoliceuk face and the bravery they show each and every day keeping Londoners safe."

Chairman Ken Marsh said: "We are not society's punchbags. We have families we want to go home to at the end of every shift. But the dangers are stark. And seemingly escalating."

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, added: "I utterly condemn the disgraceful attack on two Metropolitan Police officers this afternoon.

"These brave officers were doing their duty and assisting the public. We owe them a debt of gratitude and I wish them a full and speedy recovery.

"Attacks on our police will not be tolerated. I urge anyone with information to come forward to ensure the perpetrators of this disgusting attack feel the full force of the law."

John Apter, chairman of the Police Federation, said: "Horrific, stomach churning scenes.

"Disgusting behaviour from those who attack the officers, those who film what's going on and those who do nothing. They are cowards, the lot of them."

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said two men, aged 20 and 38, have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting police. They remain in custody in an east London police station.

Superintendent Martin Rolston said: "This incident, which was captured on someone's mobile phone is truly shocking.

"My officers went to the assistance of a member of the public - who asked for their help - after stating that they had been assaulted. What happened next is a reminder of the risks our officers take whilst going about their duties.

"It is fortunate that their injuries are not more serious. There is no place for this level of violence on our streets."
I fear things are starting to get a bit out of control. The last thing we need, and the very last thing our police need, is mob rule taking over this weekend. The only thing that I believe can stop this now is if the anarchists stay away from the planned BLM demonstrations. I'm sure the organisers will be doing their best to ensure this but in reality it is going to be very difficult. Even then you wouldn't bet against the right wing thugs kicking things off if the demonstrations remained peaceful.

At this stage I really can't see any other outcome than extreme violence. It's very worrying and very sad. That it comes in the middle of a deadly pandemic just makes it worse.

Fingers crossed I'm wrong. I may just be feeling a bit melancholic today.

Wrong again.

The cop has the lad in a kind of triangle choke whilst stood and the lad is responding and resisting forcing his arm into the cops throat which leads to the fall. It is a struggle. Or maybe you think they both just decided to lie down and start choking each other

You think “the cop tries to detain him and they end up in a bundle on the floor” meant something other than “a struggle”?

Your insinuation is what is offensive and wrong again. Try reading posts before commenting, please

So yes , if people move in lary numbers to support or fight a cause , you agree they are right.

The relevance is , in 1919 this country marched against black people. Rioted , attacked , vandalised etc. All in great number. By your very own definition, they were right to do it. You say protest should be allowed, your great grandparents fought against what you believe to be true now. As they felt so strongly about it in their numbers , their protest , their opinion is therefore right.

And more to the point, you say just because I have an opinion it doesn't make my argument supportive. What if there were hundreds of me disagreeing, would my opinion then carry weight? Is that how this works now? Opinions that don't fit the party line are not supportable? So an admission to having to agree is that?

The fact is, having an opinion isn't allowed anymore. You have been proof of that. Just because I don't regurgitate what everyone else is saying you are so quick to dismiss what I say. In fact , I have seen people on this site attacked by other posters for offering a different opinion and it's like that everywhere now.

I can see where all of this ends up. By everyone all thinking the same thing , attacking anyone who disagrees, supporting any movement, where this all ends up is exactly what people deserve. It starts with pulling statues down, consider where that ends up every time people get told to care about something , because next month it will be something new.

There once was a time where having an opinion was a thing, now it's hive mentality that is no better then 100 years ago, attacking people who disagree. All because you believe you are all right.

Like your great grandparents did 100 years ago.

Pretty sure you’ve got an opinion, and are on a public forum stating it. So not sure how its ‘not allowed’.

Seems you want to state your opinion, but don’t want others to criticise or question it, even if they just call it nonsense (which, granted, isn’t particularly productive, but they can do that, if that’s their opinion).

This is just my opinion.

Twitter is the biggest cancer of the modern era. Truly one of the worst things ever to be unleashed on planet earth. It has basically caused all of this.

I'd probably suggest centuries of oppression and racism might have had a bit of a hand in it too

It’s a racial attack on a white police officer! Why isn’t it getting reported like that? If it was a 3/4 white guys choking a black police officer it 100% would be reported as a RACIST attack not a ‘disgraceful attack‘

COMBAT AND PUNISH RACISM AGAINST ALL PEOPLE NOT JUST WHITES

something something white privilege

Not sure if you are a wum or daft or but once again and for the last time.

"the thugs involved did not molest a woman in the way they did to her colleague."
