The minority of scum causing trouble and damage / inciting riots need a firm hand and the police have shown they have been neutered by the government / social media brigade into doing nothing and a number of officers have also been hurt as were horses.

Get the army in and see if the thugs still think they are hard faced up against real men.

How do you think the army get involved in domestic activity?

Do you think the Government might want some say over whether or not they can act? Might there be some constitutional position or legislative framework that governs it?

What happens if the army doesn't work? Has anyone got a number for the super army?

i posted this the other day about the authoritarian personality. it is something we are seeing platformed a lot these days when previously they were ridiculed. maybe some of u may recognize some of these traits buddies.


The Authoritarian Personality Type
According to Adorno's theory, the elements of the Authoritarian personality type are:

• Blind allegiance to conventional beliefs about right and wrong
• Respect for submission to acknowledged authority
• Belief in aggression toward those who do not subscribe to conventional thinking, or who are different
• A negative view of people in general - i.e. the belief that people would all lie, cheat or steal if given the opportunity
• A need for strong leadership which displays uncompromising power
• A belief in simple answers and polemics - i.e. The media controls us all or The source of all our problems is the loss of morals these days.
• Resistance to creative, dangerous ideas. A black and white worldview.
• A tendency to project one's own feelings of inadequacy, rage and fear onto a scapegoated group
• A preoccupation with violence and sex

But for some people it obviously is because when some Spurs fans use the term "Yid" many opposing supporters have complained that they are classed as being racist.

There is a difference in that it wasn’t really your word to coopt was it? If Jewish people decided to coopt it then that would be a different thing. But spurs fans aren’t exclusively Jewish are they?

Yeah educate dem black folks about the humanity of the white folk, who eventually decided to stop the vile trade they started.

Statements like this is why people need to be educated on the history of slavery.

The African slave trade was imported into Europe through Muslim invasion. Muslim occupation of Portuguese land resulted in slavery of all colours. Eventually the Portuguese themselves became slave traders. This lead to the North Atlantic Slave trade. Slavery branched out into Europe, it didn't start in Europe.

The idea that white people started slavery is ridiculous. Yet it is, like many myths, told in our society.

I believe we are human beings first and foremost and that's more important than skin colour. Educating how English common law played a part in ending slavery is important because English common law is something that should be taught in schools. Educating people on how white people and all races fought against slavery shows a human spirit that slavery is wrong. We can be proud that our country fought against white supremacy (NAZIS), and our country ended slavery in many parts of the world just as much as we can look back on the wrongs that our country has done. There needs to be a balance in the teaching of history.

I don't know cos I don't feel the need ask there people their relegion when I meet them but I would guess most of the teams north of the Thames in London have the same amount???

Spurs fans took up the chants because they were called Jews by opposing fans (older people will remember all the gas songs sang against us,) so it could be said that it is their "word" in that they started using it in a "Us against them" type of way against anti semitism?

I’m old enough to remember the songs and its use and again, irrespective of whether opposition fans used the word against Spurs fans or not, it wasn’t ‘theirs’ to coopt.

I think that’s probably an interesting argument in that I remember the chants and various songs and I’ve also watched Dutch footy and heard pretty similar chants against Ajax and at the time they had similar but obviously slightly different retorts .

All I can say is that I genuinely haven't seen any and I have looked more than a few times. All I have seen are quotes from somebody called Imarn Ayton, one of the organisers of Saturday's London march asking people to behave and that violence would work against them. That was before the violence and damage.
