We will still be here in 20 years time and beyond mate
Maybe they're protesting out of hope that this won't be the case? You know, like every protest that has ever happened/

I have no idea. Nor has anyone in the history of protests known whether their protest would be successful until it was.Do you think there will be a positive end result from all this??
Protesting will achieve nothing! Educating people will. You can’t bring a law in to tackle racism, it’s in people’s mindset on how they’ve been brought up, no law or protesting will change that once it’s already there.
Or taking steps that have been statistically proven to reduce the number of deaths at the hands of police. You could probably get around to prosecuting cops who kill people, though.
REALLY? You genuinely don't believe there's a cause that could warrant mass protests irrespective of the pandemic?
So it's a matter of degrees thenIf Boris declares a military junta then yeah mass protests might be acceptable.
Yeah. Protesting (often while wearing face coverings and socially distancing) against systemic racism and the murder of black people by police, by people desperate to see change in the world is just as bad as a top govt aide/co-PM going on a jolly to a beauty spot a few hundred miles away then lying to the nation about it.
Yes, and considering black people are more likely to die from it, it's a very big decision. That's a decision for the people attending, isn't it?

And risking their lives .In my opinion I don't think it's right to call them idiots. They're protesting for a just cause.

Can't wait for @Zatara to do a thread about dating women and use quotes from Fred West and Ted Bundy.
Like, I am fully supportive of the cause, and I get the timing of it in the context of what is happening in the US. But a disaster is happening in London and hundreds of people continue to die each day from it. Can you not see why some would think putting mass gatherings on hold until we're through the worst would be a good idea? It's hard to phrase that in a way which doesn't undermine people's grievances
I can absolutely see that in an ideal world that would be the way to go.Like, I am fully supportive of the cause, and I get the timing of it in the context of what is happening in the US.
