Absolutely mental they've announced a mirage of a policy with absolutely no details to combat what is ... hold on let me count them all ... hmm too many ... one of a number of very serious crisis affecting this country since WW2.

Yet again the Con party is not being straight with us.

The PM told the house of commons yesterday that she would not introduce a windfall tax on the energy companies as this would deter investment, thus leaving us to pick up the tab.

I watched Panorama this morning and they have laid bare the the true extent of just how badly we are being ripped off.

Telling my son last night how he will be paying for this while her effing cronies rake it in. DIsgusting

As an ex employee of Shell she will not only have a pension with them but also very likely a shareholder.

The desperation of the rank and file in the population is a useful tool for enrichment of others. I hope that this and the whole litany of sins over the last 12 years remain in the memory of the electorate when the time comes.

Have heard her use the word "devotion" more than once now, in relation to her descriptions of how people should behave towards the new Sovereign.

I'm sure these speeches are prepared for her but in a modern 21st Century democracy, albeit a Constitutional Monarchy, I don't think "subjects" (citizens would be more appropriate) should be expected to show devotion to the Monarch. This is for totalitarian, despotic societies. Devotion should be reserved for deeply close personal and familial relationships.

Even that is questionable. "Commitment" and "caring" are probably better words. Devotion should remain in religion where it belongs, if you ask me. I had a very lengthy relationship where devotion was expected, and let me tell you, it sucked. Anyone demanding devotion generally won't provide it in reply.

What you have pointed out is revealing about how the Tories think. What you're describing is the legacy of an institution where sovereigns ruled by divine right. We don't believe that anymore. It follows that a sovereign is not entitled to devotion, in this day and age. The use of the word lays bare an unhealthy streak of authoritarianism, though anyone that was paying attention was already quite aware that was there.

Same mate, my kid, step kids and grandchildren will all pay for this. And for what? Its not like the energy sector is on its arse.

BP and shell set to make 170 billion windfall plus their "normal profit" in the next six months. On top of that they get 150 billion from us and just to take the piss our energy bills will still go up, just not as much as they would have done. Our bills still haven't been frozen.................just us, this winter.

Is there anyone outside the Con party that thinks this is a good idea?

I can’t even consider this, I mean, we’ve had no say in this “plan”
It’s a disgrace
