Would it really matter. Finally, and it’s only because Putin has woken us all up, the country will put energy supply on a strategic path. It will take time, and we may even have a Labour government at some point, but it needs to be done, it won’t be cheap but will pay back in the long run…..
Yes. But you blamed the Labour Party for our position which is a ridiculous thing to say.
London bridgeOperation Tower Bridge?
It is in regard to nuclear power. No nuclear plant has been built for 25 years…so Blair, Brown, Cameron and co all slept at the wheel in respect of energy security……
Pete, as a fundamental cornerstone of any so called developed country, an energy strategy should always have been at the top of the to-do list.Would it really matter. Pete, industry analysis, not political sniping. It is in regard to nuclear power. No nuclear plant has been built for 25 years…so Blair, Brown, Cameron and co all slept at the wheel in respect of energy security……
Am I in Team Liz now? I am confused.Looks like Liz Truss killed the queen
Correct. Though the Tories progressed them initially, they pulled the plug over the strike price which is my recollection. A distinct lack of foresight over energy security, but if they'd green lighted things, then they'd also have been pilloried for tying us into an expensive energy future.No. That's just not fair. I might be wrong but I understand we (Labour) got 4 new sites ready and through the planning system. That's a lot of the hard yards. They've sat on the sidelines under 12.5 TWELVE years of Tory rule.
The need for complex pricing agreements only arise because the nuclear power industry was privatised.Correct. Wrong decision but politically I can understand this one to a degree.
Be interesting if we get a "nationalised" one too...The need for complex pricing agreements only arise because the nuclear power industry was privatised.

Not having one in place is criminal.
In regard to Putin’s recent intervention, a blind man on a galloping horse, would have seen this move coming. A strategic review, ahead of the blonde warrior leaping in to support Ukraine, should surely have identified this likely outcome and the UK’s need to prepare for this eventuality.
Oh shiz, didn’t see that coming, is as dumb as it gets.
