Going green will be a boom industry for the UK if we do it right.
And as it provides energy security and reduces pollution is a win, win. Except if you're a dope you don't understand these things no matter how often you're told them. These things are also something that can be done in the kind of towns that the Tories pledged to "level up" in 2019, thus providing skills, green jobs, and locally produced energy. But no, we can't have any of that.

….good to hear Truss is going to fix the NHS, fix the economy, fix just about everything. Probably about time after 12 years in power.

Despite not mentioning the NHS once during her campaign against Sunak.

Now now you bitter blues they've only had 12 very short years.
NHS in crisis, unsafe streets, falling infrastructure, skyrocketing inflation, nowt to do with Truss and Conservatives they have only just got in/

My god, even more bluster and bull than a Johnson speech. More promises to build hospitals that wont happen. Afaik its nearly impossible to get a GP appointment in England but Truss will fix that too.

I notice there wasnt a mention of Brexit in the list of causes of the problems the UK faces, or 12 years of Tory rule.

I'm intrigued in how it will bankrupt the UK as well @peteblue

Majority of the carbon capture projects are going to be funded by the end users themselves. We could be a world leader on that front.

Fracking is what i think will get pushed when in reality we should be going down the route of Green Hydrogen production and Nuclear SMR's.

Seeing as he was Mayor of London at the time, I wasn't paying attention to what he said then but I'm guessing he said nowt of constructive use.

But since then he has blamed the EU in a cheap attempt of point scoring for his own benefit.

As for Truss, give Borisella time.

Just find interesting that its only now being reported. And notable Ben Elliot resigned yesterday as soon as the result was announced. Truss is not going to be afforded the same protections Johnson had.

Re your last paragraph, I agree. In addition to that we should also change the planning laws to embed renewable energy into building projects: all large public buildings to be fitted with solar panels by legal requirement, all new homes to have them too. Ignore heating for a moment - just imagine the impact on your monthly bill if all your electricity use was removed because your panels and batteries covered it all.
