They said they wanted Jersey jobs to go to local people, its a way in which small Islands grow their economy.

TBF the Jersey lot have always been about "how much money do you have" if you want to actually live there, it is very akin to the Isle of Man in that respect except with better beaches and a much less experienced accident and emergency department.

Turned down a good job there ...... always windy on that island .......good for sea fishing - I remember when you could order kippers out of the Liverpool Echo & they would arrive the next day ......

Not really mate, no. It has French influence in some town names and that, but its as British as any British place. Pubs, drive on the left, currency, language, police, monarch, all sorts.

Turned down a good job there ...... always windy on that island .......good for sea fishing - I remember when you could order kippers out of the Liverpool Echo & they would arrive the next day ......

taking the ferry there in high winds is always an "experience"
