You sure about that? Cant recall the Queen ever doing it. Would be interested when the last time it happened..
1975.
The Australian Governer General...essentially The then Queens proxi... sacked the sitting PM.

A number of events led to the dismissal of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam and his government. On 15 October 1975, the Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Fraser announced the opposition would block the governments' supply or money bills in the Senate until an election was called. The opposition took this action because it believed the government was incompetent and the worst government in our history.

On 11 November, the Governor-General, Sir John Kerr decided the only way to break this deadlock was to use his reserve powers and dismiss Mr Whitlam and his government. It was the first time the Governor-General had removed from office a prime minister who had the support of a majority of members in the House of Representatives.

Sir John Kerr appointed Mr Fraser as caretaker Prime Minister on the condition that he guarantee the supply bills would pass the Senate and he would request a double dissolution election. The supply bills were passed that afternoon and Mr Fraser then asked the Governor-General to dissolve both houses of Parliament so a federal election could be held.

Edit; Oi, you, Colonials - whose your daddy.

Some former Tory MEP on This Morning saying that Boris should come back because he had a mandate and it wasn't the public who wanted him gone, just the MPs.

Then said that the public don't want a general election as they want stability.

Deluded. All the polls suggest we do want an election. And at the time, we did want Boris gone.
A Tory on the news last night said it isn't in anyone's interest to have a general election as the Tories would get anihilated and would leave the country without a strong opposition. They are clinging on to power by their fingernails.

Wait a second, isn't that exactly why we need a general election? Because the current incumbent government is so bad that they need to be removed ASAP?

This bunch are inept shysters who want to hold on for as long as they can before they get turfed out.

Boris cannot come back as he has to face the music over himself lying to parliament over party gate - he could end up in the future not being able to stand for any public office position in the future ......
