Idk man. I like a striker that can dribble. I just question whether he is a big enough upgrade on what we have unless Moyes starts him in a pair which intrigues me a bit. I think he would be a good foil and maybe he fits Davey's profile for that position. My questions are- is Charly gone? Is Jake a RB next season again? What other positions will we actually be looking to strengthen? A like for like replacement for Beto doesn't cut the mustard when there are so many holes to fix. That is why I can see him in a pair.

Id be very surprised at Moyes being as vocal as he is, if this one isn't all but done.

Even ref to us being the black ball/press briefed of Moyes' direct involvement...

... Didn't like the black ball comment either btw. What purpose does that serve?

The saying "behind the black ball" is not a common or established idiom in English. However, the phrase "behind the eight ball" (or "behind the black ball") is a well-known idiom referring to a difficult or challenging situation. It originates from the game of billiards, where a player is considered "behind the eight ball" when the cue ball is positioned in a way that makes it difficult to hit the eight ball, which is the last ball to be pocketed in the game.

In the short story "The Black Ball" by Ralph Ellison, the phrase "behind the black ball" is used to convey a sense of being in a losing position or facing a threat. The story also explores the meaning of "black balling," which refers to a vote against someone in a secret ballot, often used to deny them membership or advancement. In this context, the black ball signifies opposition or rejection.
