my point was if elong watched the lille game he would be able to see his passing range and movement( beyond the striker) which is what we could use in breaking down stubborn defences.. If osmen tired in the second half then it's up to the manager to get the best out of him (cameos). His best years are behind him obviously, some would say he never had a good year that's their choice, I think he can do a job for a year.

All this Osman bashing doesn't sit well with me.

It reminds me of the same sort of tripe written about Cahill and Weir who were also both magnificent servants to the club when they had gone past their peak periods.

It's all about opinions, but anybody who chooses to slate Osman is a complete berk IMO. He still has a role to play and I will take Martinez and Moyes judgements over yours any day of the week.

How dareth you compare Sirs Cahill and Weir to Master Osman.

At least both of them were massive, massive players for us - especially TC. Osman has been a five-games-a-season star while the rest of the time he's crap, and always has been.

I reckon most lids on here, if they were given 35 games a season, would score the odd goal and look half-decent on the pitch.

It is amazing how one player can split opinion so much, especially as the people who defend him do so to the max and the people who don't like him would rather he left the club.

I don't like him ( I think i've made that pretty obvious ) but I do find it interesting that one player can divide opinion so much, when we all watch the same games. Has there been another player like this in recent history of the club? I can't really think of any.

may or may not have posted this before.

Osman was one of Moyes' casualties in all honesty. if he could have played in his best position week in week out he would be one of those best players outside of the national team. Great feet on the ball and very good reactions at times to get into spaces. the constant playing out wide and all over meant he never got that chance, hell when he did for 4 months he shone in that role.

He has been a great player for the club as im sure someone would have paid him more to play in his best position a few years ago. He is looking like a liability when he is on the pitch though and that will be a problem in bigger games he is filling in for.

is that four months across his entire career aggregated including pre season ?

The four months at the end of one season.

i have always thought he was decent and did his job well in the team, especially with the likes of arteta and cahill alongside him. I just think playing him in his best role would have gotten much more out of him and developed him to be more creative than he is.

Hello mate sorry to labour the point - you are saying that in one period of February to May in an undisclosed season, Osman played around 10-16 games and consistently shone?

Apologies for carrying on but this will inform my choice of gif.
