Leon Osman

Awful again today. Good squad player and battler but not good enough anymore for a team wanting to get into the top 4.

he needs dropping for the time being thats for sure, especially when Pienaar is available again, no way should Gosling make way, VDM or Gosling should be playing instead of Osman

Osman's a strange player.

In the middle he's good, he keeps the ball and is very intelligent. Links play well and makes good runs. He's also very aware of where he is.

Outwide he seems to switch off and looks very laid back on the ball, he always seems to get it knicked off him. This has nothing to do with lack of pace or strength, he just seems to fall asleep on the ball.

He has a tendency to play like a natural winger aswell, your not one Leon. He sticks to the byline instead of coming inside like Pienaar does, if he did that he'd be much more effective.

Good central midfielder (alongside a defensive midfielder), bog average wide man.

he's very effective played centrally, but everybody wants to be there & moyes will have to perm about 3 from 5 or 6. apparently he's been carrying a knock of late & that may explain his less than convincing displays.

I think he goes about his job well and is very quiet in his operations. Seems to me that because he doesn't garner the same attention as Arteta or Cahill, then he is a non entity. There is no better finisher outside of the box in the club.

Well said he is a lot better player than people think. He doesn't have the sex appeal that some possess. A good rest and he should get super charged again. Hardworker and good ball skills.

That could be because he'#s usually on the right with Hibbert behind him. Result being he sees less of the ball - more of our attacks going down the left flank via Baines/Piennar, and when he does has no one behind to support him. That might also explain why he seems to do better in the middle.
That said I'd still like to see VDM be given a start on the right, just to see how well he could do.

Just think though if we had that the equivalent of our left sided players on the right. Bring back Gary Stevens, Trevor Steven or Kanchelskis.

Osman and Hibbert out.

Personally I'm a big Ossie fan, always have been, he's a quality footballer who always puts in a shift and always wants the ball. He manages to score both the vital and the exquisite, I dont think he deserves to be dropped.
Think he is better than Fellaini and was excellent against Liverpool when moved into the middle. He does a job out there like Arteta - and everyones seen how good he has been when moved inside. Ossie would benefit from similar treatment. He was absolutely superb last season when he played infront of Carsley.

He's just not that good

I think your being harsh there Andriy, he was good last season in his natural position, central midfield.

He's playing out of position for the team, he's trying his best. We've seen how it can effect the likes of Lescott and Arteta (quality players) so its going to happen to a player like Ossie.

His a postion that could do would strengthing, a bit of compition never hrut anyone, but at the same time the grass isnt always greener.

He will and should be at Everton for all his career. Wheather thats in the team or not is down to him, key word being squad and compition.
