Leighton Baines

A lot of football sense is articulated here. Baines is kind of talismanic for us though. But then again, I thought the same about Fellaini and was wrong.
Anyway, football is not my day job. But it is RM's and I have faith in his ability to deal with 'all this'.

they were under moyes, less so under martinez

He's probably waiting to see where Utd are in the league come Jan..........8th is my guess......4 places below us

Pretty sure they will improve, but if we are still above them come the window, it'll will certainly improve our chances of keeping him, especially if we're still looking good for europe.

Deffo improve, it's been a laugh putting the boot in but just too many good players there to be anywhere but top 3 plus one cup at least.

Just seen Martinez's presser and i'm going to say my inkling is that he's resigned to losing Baines in January but already knows he'll be able to bring some quality players in to replace him.

I get the same feeling that Baines is off be it January or next summer but I have faith that Martinez can replace him and improve the side/squad with the money we get. Be lovely if selling him gave us enough money to buy Lukaku next summer, nice to dream once in a while.

Baines is deffo off, RM body language showed it, he couldn't look at the interviewers when answering about him leaving, it was awkward to watch.

What will be will be.

There's plenty of variables that could dictate what happens over Baines - not least whether the ginger one is still in the hot seat at OT come January..........

Think it's extremely likely he'll go, but while he'll obviously be a huge loss it's not going to be as bad as it would've been if we'd lost him under Moyes' system. He's not been so integral to the way we play this season. I just hope Roberto can find a quality replacement

look...he might leave and he might not, its not definite either way, trying to tell from martinez body language isnt gonna tell us anything! especially as things change so quickly in football

There has been a lot of people say if Baines left they would wish him all the best as he has served us well and I dont knock that sentiment but I would feel a bit gutted for him if he did leave to United as I just dont think they will be competitive in the next couple of seasons as they have been and by the time they turn things around Baines could well be past it. He could well leave for more success just as the team he leaves for has a slump in the way of winning things goes.
