The 'problem' with Martinez for some Everonians was that he didn't want the team to hoof the ball downfield or into Row Z.

He wanted to play football and that got up the noses of people once we weren't challenging for a European place.

That ^^^ is the top and bottom of it.
Beautiful.

He finished 11th with a 25 goal Striker cos he didnt know how to set up a team to win games.

Since he left Everton he has continued to fail with quality players, but hey, at least he got a few bob out of us.
I've heard his fawning comments about Moyes and watched his body language around him.

Moyes is his sensei. It's embarrassing.
How many Everton training sessions have you watched Dave?

It's not, it's playing for a manager who knows what he's talking about, the same manager who has turned things around. Bainsey has realised this is a team that has been "rebalanced".

Just curious, who would Davek choose between Martinez and Dyche? It seems with one he's cheating on his man crush on the other. I just can't figure which one is his main squeeze.

Everton should always attempt to play football. Martinez every time because he always got that about us historically and he wouldn't settle for a point when three were available...and that's my mentality too.

Some Evertonians were brought up worshipping false gods. Moyes is the most false god of all.

His period in charge systematically buried Everton's traditions, which is why I for one will never forgive him.

David Moyes took over a team that fought relegation, finished 4th and got us to a Cup Final, then left us fighting for Europe.
Martinez took over a team that qualified for Europe, finished 5th and got us to a Semi Final, then left us mid-table.

In the lad of Gods, neither belong, but the difference is clear.

Yeah, Belgium must be gutted he made them the world's number 1 ranked national team for 6 years and got them to the SFs of a WC...only failing to get into the final because of that donkey "25 goal a season striker".

You're bankrupt here lad. Stand down.

That first season Martinez was here was the best season since we actually won a trophy last under Royle, and our best football season since HK1.
