Who said he was leaving?
I doubt he will even go but if he does, I would not consider anything under 24 million

You can compare and liken situations with other players who are settled at their clubs, under lengthy contracts, are considered to be in the top 2 or 3 in their position in this country, and who are happy at their clubs, don't cause any trouble, and are still wanted by both the manager and fans.

Does Moyes value or want Baines any less than he wanted Lescott? Most people would say no, so why do some people think Moyes would accept much less for Baines? The situations really aren't that different.

Lescott - Everton finished 5th, FA Cup final. In Europe.
Interest - Man Citeh, throwing ridiculous amount of money about.
Baines - Everton finished 7th. Bottled a FA Cup semi against a turd RS side.
Interested - Man United, one of the biggest teams in world football.

The two situations are different.

If they werent, we wouldnt have sold Arteta for £10million who had a just signed a £65k a week contract the previous season.

And Jelavic went for under £5million. You cannot seriously compare the price to value range of one player to any other because there are too many variables.

All things considered if Man U buy Baines from us this summer it will be for between £15-£20 million.

Thats a realistic price but one that means people playing fantasy football manager will be dissapointed.

I hope Manure dont buy him cos we will get a typical Fergie crap buy aka small amount + 'add-ons'. More likely 12million rising to 15 if they win league, champions league and he cuts his toe nails fortnightly etc.

He wont be going, not a chance, they wont pay what we want, certainly not up front and bainses definately doesnt want to go, therefor he shall not

Clichy is a similar age and (in the final year of his contract) cost £7m. He's not half the player Baines is.

If Powell is worth £4m to United, Jones cost £16m and Smalling £7m then about £17-£18m sounds like the ball park.

I think it's paper talk though. Evra is their captain and Fabio has been sent to QPR to finish his development. Plus they're raising money on the stock market to reduce debts, so it's unlikely that they'll be spending a lot this summer.

I think United's priority is at the other end of the pitch. They need more midfield creativity & a striker. With Vidic back their back line will be a lot more solid than it was last season. With a limited budget they should be looking to find a way to dominate matches and match City - hence my assumption they need a top top midfielder or striker.

We sold Lescott for £20 million plus, Baines is more important to us, and is arguably the best left back in the prem. So £20 million plus

Id go 20mill, but we'd sell for less, wonder do Wigan have a sell on!

What are you talking for a decent left back with potential - 6 mill!

So your really only talking about 10mill in new dough!
