It's hard to disagree with any of that Andy, but there's also another problem that would come with the appointment of Allardyce in any capacity, he'd have to win the fans over very quickly, as he's universally disliked .( I include myself in that one )
He'd have to hit the ground running or things would turn nasty pretty quickly, just like his time at Newcastle and West Ham. ( where he did well steadying things at both clubs, but the fans just never wanted him there to start with )
Don't get me wrong mate, in an ideal world the pragmatism of BFS would be nowhere near Everton, but this right now is not an ideal world, it's the very opposite.
We have a squad of players who are taking far too long to gel together, we have something of a disjointed squad in that we have no proven striker and an aging, slowing defence and an overloaded midfield.
We also have a dis-functional off the field operation whereby outside of the very innermost sanctums of the club, nobody appears to have any real clue as to what anybody really does.
Who naused up the summer... RoKo, Walsh, the board, an individual, any two of three, all three ??
We have no idea what the hell is going on.
Now, ten games in we have just 8 points and the accepted survival target is 40.
So 32 points needed from 28 games with a squad currently devoid of goals and leaking them.
Okay, we give David Unsworth the next four league games and we hope and pray that he can turn things around and get us at least two wins... If he does that great and give him a while longer.
It'll be tough for him and if it isn't happening, he's either going to be replaced by a.n.other or we bring in someone with far greater experience to help him... in what by then will be a survival battle.
And that leads you to firefighters like BFS.
Worrying times.
