Of all the trophies we may or may not win in the future, the League Cup will be the most elusive, I'm sure of that!

Lawson was not very good. But to be fair I think Dario Terracotta sold him a dummy for the tap in goal as far as I can remember through my tears standing in the Stretford end. What a time for diasappointments that was..
Your right there Darracot let it go under his foot instead of wellying it

David 'kin' Lawson,it was ours until he let Nichol beat him from 80 yards with the slowest moving shot ever, then watched a ball bobble across the 6 yard box when it was three inches away from him, bellend
I know mate, when Latch put us one up we all believed it was ours, we were pretty much in control,I may be wrong but there was only about ten minutes to go, the Nicholl equaliser was the biggest fluke ever, he never did that before or after that night, then they scored again within a minute or so,Big Mick with the equaliser, and then it just looked like yet another replay until that fateful moment, aaarrrrrgghhh still hurts after all these years!!

Even after all these years I cant forgive Lawson,we were a decent goalie away from actually winning something

Shilton would have made us,Georgie Wood was decent but Shilton who was lined up for us apparently was another level,I still wonder if we had won that night at Old Trafford if we may have kicked on and done something special in the late 1970's we really were that close.

A case of what could have been, losing what should have been a league title when Derby won, another season after with a late collapse, semi final v West Ham,it was always a nearly decade
