Ashley Cole is a better player than Leighton Baines.

Really confuses me when people rate current Ashley Cole so highly, he isn't the same player he was 3-4 years ago. A few years ago he was better than Baines.

Now he isn't.

It's clear that no one on here has watched nearly enough of Cole to make a good judgement on who is better at what. On a Chelsea forum if this thread got posted they'd probably think we're all on crack and vice-versa. .

Londoners know nothing about football though, and it's probably a good thing when Chel**** have that much money.

Cole is mediocre. I honestly think he's a Stoke-tier player these days. Chelsea would win the league every year with Baines.

Now I am going out on a limb here , by saying at times our Leighton's positional sense defensively lets him down....but his overall offerings to the team is second to none in his position

baines scores goals with his right and left, ashley cole can barely take a touch with his off-foot.

in their respective primes, it would be a tough comparison, but right now i would take baines over one-footed ashley any day.

He's not even the best English LB.

You can look at the Stats all day, but I would prefer to look at the football. Baines is good, but he is not world class.

Look, loathe him or loathe him, Cashley is still a brilliant footballer, and last time I checked his team are still above us.

They're ahead of Man Utd too.

Not only is he the best LB, currently in the World, he will continue to be the best untill around 2045, when, well ive said too much already.

Regardless of how well Cole plays, Baines is the better player on stats alone. Doing the business for the team is what is important, playing fancy football with no end result means f all.
I would say he is our best player, is he better than Marcelo, it's close but I'm not sure.
I've said for a while that he is world class, but he will always get overlooked because he plays for Everton.
