Last Film You Watched

It sure is, and I get the approach, do it about the event, not any specific character, but I didn't feel connected to the movie because of it.

Pretty sure that was just meant to add the disorientation of the whole thing though. I doubt any of the soldiers had any connections at that point.

Still in two minds about Dunkirk.

As a cinematic (and technically) experience, it was absolutely brilliant (and I didn't even see it on an IMAX) but nothing really lasts from it for me apart from the ending which I really disliked.

I really don't get the ending, the whole film was out not to be like that and then it just was.

I could see why the Germans wanted it tbh, the best hairdressers were obviously all based in Dunkirk.

Hitler: The Last Ten Days with Alec Guinness staring as Hitler from 1973. A good film with a fairly faithful retelling of the real events, it's been a long time since I last watched this and I think it's age shows slightly and the fact that its done in English also hurts the film imo. Downfall is far the better telling and far more accurate. However this isn't to say the last ten days is bad, its a very good retelling of the events. Plus Alec Guinness is in it FFS! 7/10.

Every now and again a film slips under the radar. This is one of them.

Cross between Event Horizon and Aliens.

Earth is dying and thousands of people are put on ice and flown into deep space, to start a new world on a planet centuries away.

However something goes badly wrong on board several decades into the flight.

Atmospheric and genuinely scary in parts.

A must for horror / scfi fans.

That's been on my netflix list for ages, so every time it was on Film4 I ignored it.
Looks like I'll have to get round to watching it.

Got a voucher for 99p to 'rent' a film off of Rakuten the other day, so watched 'Origin Wars'. Feel like someone on here mentioned it, but couldn't find anything with a quick search.

Anyway, it's a pretty good sci if/space action film. Quite dark and gritty, and altho I feel like it's quite a low budget affair (no name actors in it that I knew of), it looks good and most of the effects are good, with the exception of the 'monsters', which imo looked terrible. Some fun characters in it, and while it may not be terribly original (what is nowadays?), it'd defo better than most of the reviews it's gotten. Also goes by the name 'Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child', so might possibly be the start of a series if it does well enough? I certainly would be happy to watch more based off of this.

Don't ask why but I watched:
Cruel Intentions (1999)

It's a bit crap like but very of its time. Think based on a book actually.

Still, even to this day, I just never fancied Sarah Michelle Geller the vampire slayer. Weird nose.

Anyway, excellent late 90's soundtrack saves this from a 1 score.
