Last Film You Watched

Don't ask why but I watched:
Cruel Intentions (1999)

It's a bit crap like but very of its time. Think based on a book actually.

Still, even to this day, I just never fancied Sarah Michelle Geller the vampire slayer. Weird nose.

Anyway, excellent late 90's soundtrack saves this from a 1 score.

2 Championship Belts out of 5

My buddies and I were just talking about this film last night because Ryan Philipe came up in our conversation as a weird looking dude (google him: his eyes, nose, mouth are tiny as if they were underbaked while the rest of his head is huge). Anyways, this film is based on a Jane Austin Novel, I think...but it seems like an "after-school special," which was an American thing where networks would show "edu-drama" programs that were supposed to inform school children. But I suspect most kids just got high, made-out, and/or snuck liquor from their parents closet, and later fueled their memories of watching this condescending piffle into creative outlets.

Used to love this when it came out, haven't seen it since tho and have heard it hasn't aged well. It's basically a teen version of Dangerous Liasons (with Uma Thurman ;) ). Should watch that really.

Uhh.....SMG saying 'you can put it anywhere' is worth at least 1.5 points alone!!

The Wall

A tense, effective and enjoyably brief Snipe-fest

Watched that last night myself, enjoyed it but thought it could have been better. Couldn't put my finger on what it was missing.

A solid 7 though

Some weird Evertonian telepathic thing going on last night, as I watched this too. Thought the lead actor was really rather good, but some of the stuff the Iraqi sniper came out with was a bit cheesy. Quoting Poe at him etc.

Did either of you eat a twirl while you watched it?

The Edge of Seventeen.

Great coming of age drama, reminded me of when I was(n't) a 17 year old girl.

Noooo, it's better than that

But yeah, Placebo in the first few mins is great.
