I thought the portrayal painted him in a half decent light

<Spoiler alert>

* He left his wife to take the wife of a business colleague instead.
* Took the two brothers business from under their feet
* Never honoured his 1% deal that would of been worth over a hundred mil to them.
* Claimed Mcdonalds was his invention when it wasn't
* Ignored his contract, correctly telling them they would win but it would take years and would ruin them to sue him
* Named his franchise McDonalds 1 when it was just a franchise of the original, never mentioning his business partners who invented the whole thing.
* Put the original inventor in hospital
* After taking everything from them that he could, he froeced the actual founders to change the name of their McDonalds to something else, take down the arches and once done, he set up a McD's opposite them, putting them out of business.

Basically he utterly ruined the lives of the actual founders of McDonalds, taking credit for a load of things that were not down to him, he can't even claim the credit for McDonals being worth so much, he was losing money on the franchises until anotherr guy suggested making the money from the land instead of the business.

Which bit was the decent bit?

He was a nasty piece of work

I think you slightly mis understood,I agree he was a nasty character,Im saying the film didnt portray that enough,it had him come across as a sort of decent hardworking bloke trying to catch a break,rather than a ruthless person,like I said I thought it painted him in quite a decent light considering

Oh lol... see what you mean now :)

It should have been a character assassination rather than a good old boy story,though besides that it was quite interesting what the little weasel achieved
Yeah he did incredibly well from a business perspective, but the little touches like the mc'ds opposite their original burger site was just done out of spite, and after they gave him the foundations on which he built his wealth I can't understand where his hatred came from for them tbh.
