Last Film You Watched

Thought I'd go back to it having watched both Trainspotting films over the weekend. My vague memory was that Human Traffic was similar in mood, etc. My memory was wrong.

Great soundtrack though ?

It's a bit more polished and lavish than his usual films, but it's still very funny in parts.

Not a patch on Balzing Saddles though

Got that in my collection - let's just say it's likely that Seth was a fan...

Got some 'choons' in it, must be said. And it does name check Bill Hicks too. It's not without its redeeming features, it just isn't what I remembered it as.

Er..... Yeah, pretty much. I was talking to one of my team about music the other day, and they were saying they liked older stuff. Fair enough, I think, this is a conversation we can have. Turns out 'older stuff' is actually quite new. Bloody kids.

Anyone have a Letterboxd account on here? Great alternative to imdb for reviewing movies.

I used to use that and Criticker. Gave up a while ago but here they are. Would have liked to carry on with Criticker but I messed it up by over-highly rating stuff at the start.

Finished early today and thought I'd relax and watch a movie.
My choice? 'The Asian connection' with Steven Seagal.
It's so appalling I can't take my eyes off it...or Steven's black fuzzy felt hat that he's passing off for hair these days.

Was good fun. I picked it, as the missus had never seen it

I just look at the percentage. 90%+ gets a watch. Anything below requires further investigation.

I do that sometimes, but I often find it's a poor barometer

Just saw LaLa Land, I was moved. Not as good as Whiplash but a very good film nonetheless

Money Monster. It wasn't bad but was expecting it to be better. Undecided on whether the plot idea was good or not.

Animal Kingdom is a 2010 Australian crime film written and directed by David Michôd, and starring Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce, James Frecheville, Luke Ford, Jacki Weaver, and Sullivan Stapleton.

Good acting, as you'd expect from that list.
The story is based on 'real events', as such it adds to the drama.
It was ok.

The film is written and directed by first time feature helmer Ruth Platt. Cast includes Tom Cox, Michaela Prchalova and Dolya Gavanski.'

Pretty gory in parts, so not for the squeamish but, that aside, there are a number of issues prevalent throughout the film. Any of which could be argued about.
What shouldn't be up for discussion, is the performance of Robert Hands. He was outstanding.
