Think we have had this conversation. Yes thought it was excellent too. Films are very subjective though and mood dependant. American Honey has been very well received by most critics and on their film of the year lists. So I'm not the only one. Each to their own.

Watched Fifty Shades of Grey last night.

The dialogue was awful (the author wouldn't let the director use her own), it was pretty boring but it wasn't as bad as some made out. Prefered it to The Accountant, the last crap film I watched.

The wife made me watch Fifty Shades, and I thought it was a desperately poor film. Absolutely no sexual frisson or on-screen chemistry whatsoever, the main bird, I forget her name, utterly failing to pull of the 'shy girl but actually up for it' role, and to cap it off, Ellie Goulding.
